This anime is a nothing anime. It brings nothing to the table what so ever. The slimes are cute, but nothing else. MC is generic overpowered protagonist with no emotion or reactions to anything who has a isekaied ingame character's GUI, he has HP and MP that can apparently go intot he negatives? (can his hp go into the negatives?) and every character is more bland than a cracker dipped in water. Story - 1, Pathetic There is no story. Generic office worker is isekaied into another world who then has a class, stumbles into a magical house that has books and his friendly tamed slime friend (who hetamed cause hes a tamer) all randomly decide to read books in this magical house, and within moments he becomes lvl 9 million and has hundreds of skills that he doesnt even know what they do, and because he's a tamer the slimes that learned all this all transfer the knowledge to him so he learns it.

thats the first 30 seconds, the rest of the anime is; MC walks around not giving a care in the world, instakilling everything he sees having no emotional reaction to anything ever.

Art - 1, Pathetic

The art is basic bad shaded bland anime art, with no animation. 80% of the anime is still frames with people talking over it, you're lucky to get their mouthes animated. There's some low low level animation in fight scenes, but its mostly MC poking the air using his GUI to cast spells even he doesnt know what they do.

Sound - 1, Pathetic

Half the time there is no sound, its just people talking with bad dialog that either makes no sense or you can see happening from the stillframe you're looking at.

Character - 1, Pathetic

As said above, there is no development from anyone at all, MC has no development, or emotions or thoughts at all, neither does anyone else besides "wow MC is so strong!".

Enjoyment - 1, Pathetic

As someone who has loved everything about slimes since playing Ragnarok Online as a kid, this really hurt me seeing something i love so dearly be completely destroyed and abused. there is nothing enjoyable about this anime besides looking at stillframes of cute slimes going "WAAAAA". Reincarnated As A Slime gave me the same feeling but that had a decent anime get ruined by teenage fantasies, this just had nothing to begin with.

Overall - 1, Pathetic

Given the timeframe i wouldnt be suprised if this is a terrible attempt at latching on the residual hype from Reincarnated as a slime, as is alot, if not all the anime releases this year, its low budges, low effort, no thought trash and its really really disappointing. After anime with the level of Demon Slayer out there it set the bar higher for every other anime out there, but this anime spit in its face and decided to lower the bar to even out the average. Utter Trash, Do. Not. Watch.

Isekai Wars: The Strongest Sage Strikes Back...or so you thought that it'd be better or at least decent. "Fool me once, shame on you. But fool me twice, shame on me." This is the best expression that is ought to be given to this contrived utter cliché of a source material, and this is given novelist Shinkoshoto's mindset of a sigma grind set author to pump out a new work each and every year since 2016 with the release of his very first series that got an anime adaptation in the beginning Winter of this year: Shikkakumon no Saikyou Kenja a.k.a The Strongest Sage with theWeakest Crest. And if you know anything about that show, it's basically a "nothing happens" show of the same overly used tropes you've seen about a billion times, but done on a very bare-bones level that's filled with all sorts of mediocrity.

Fast forward to Summer and with Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life a.k.a My Isekai Life, all I can tell you is this: have the beginning section of the story skipped for no absolute reason why (exactly has how Shikkakumon started), and the main and tag-along supporting characters do a swap, ranging from a somewhat charismatic to an overworked, lifeless and emotionless Protag-kun, to support characters that are ousted and turned into helper creatures. And yes, you're reading that right, because this is all that the generic OP Protag-kun Yuji Sano has all that's going for him: a death in the real world that's basically laden to a reincarnation into what is now considered as one of the most stupid and illogical ideas used in an Isekai when the execution is just plain bad, get some monsters that somehow from reading a book, he's able to become a monster tamer and then be on his way. All of this happens for God knows why, because this has no story at all. Oh, I'm sorry, the story involves saving the world from the oh-so-trivial evil "Church is bad" cultist goons whom are SOOOOO desperate to take over the world. So cliché, so nice...NOT.

Yuji Sano is the epitome of someone's bad dream of a wish-fulfilment reincarnation stage, because to be gone from the trenches of life is a benefit in and of itself, but the next life still doesn't grant him a bed of roses, and he comes into the fantasy world already chocked full of OP levels of magic strength, because why not. But when the main character displayed is emotionless and acts like a lesser version of Black Clover's Yuno that's blessed with power as strong as he comes, it gets trepidatiously boring after awhile. And truth to be honest, I admit that he does sound like Saito Soma when he gets serious (which VA Chiaki Kobayashi does a knock-out job), though at the expense of the belief or disbelief of maxing out powers like an MP meter drain was never once a bottleneck in the first place. But, the takeaway is that Yuji isn't a decent character worth watching, he's just a plot mover that personally I feel is more suited to the background, behind-the-scene tasks. He's not like Shikkakumon's Matthias Hildesheimer, whom is younger, displays much more personality, and is the perfect embodiment of a young, but not stooped down reincarnation wish fulfilment.

But, this is not just all Yuji has going for him. Together with him are his most trustable allies of slimes and a white wolf they call "Proud Wolf" (because wolves are proud, yeah?) because mediocrity is the name of the game, and for someone who's continuously writing too many novels at any given time, it's clear that Shinkoshoto's idea only sells because Japan loves crap like these. However, as per Shikkakumon's standards, only one character is fun, and just like the red-haired dragon Iris doing her stuff in the background, it's the various slimes voiced by mostly amateur VAs around the ages of Gen Y-cum-Millenials, and they do provide the show's only source of entertainment to be useful to Yuji given his monster tamer skills...which come to think of it, why put out so much effort in the first place? I understand that it's to culminate experience, but there is a better way of getting noticeable, is this not true? But either way, it's a decent job for breaking the mold on a shell-shock state of the bare-bones story. It's not great, but not too bad either.

After coming off of the somewhat mixed reception of Spring 2021's Slime 300 (that's another Isekai that IMO isn't generic at all), it pains me to say that even as a relatively new studio into the industry, Revoroot's production values aren't the greatest. Let's be clear: there were a lot of sacrifices when it came to the overall production with very limited animation, and even on that one episode where animators and artists go all out to create a bang (which it did to get featured on Sakugabooru), it just doesn't look all that appealing, but it did do just barely enough for the presentation to pass off as jobs being done. And let's face it, the AniManga industry only gets worse from here on out. Nevertheless, a show production being done is a job done, and what is presented here, it's fine but nothing to scream "noteworthy". Moving on.

Easily the shining moment of the anime has to go towards its music presentation...or rather, just the OP/ED itself as the OST is just that unremarkable. Coming off from the heels of "Dragon, Ie wo Kau." with the medieval-fantasy like ED (which is still one of my favourites to this day), Non Stop Rabbit has once again given us a good song that at first, sounds just like a generic fantasy chord, but the appeal is that the more you listen to it, the more it is ingrained to the feels, and I certainly felt that slowly but strongly as one of the better OPs this season. And this same feeling trickles down to the slime-ful ED which is a heap that's chock full of entertainment and fun. There's even a reference to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody if you look and listen close enough, the legendary song sequence is unmistakable.

But overall, this is just your tried-and-true standard Isekai reincarnation fantasy formula, bludgeoned to no end with no originality whatsoever thanks to Shinkoshoto being a giga chad to simultaneously write as much as he can, with a formula that's as basic and bare-bones as it comes. There's just not much sophistication, and the series has lots of misses than hits affixing the one positive that Shinkoshoto is somehow getting the attention in Japan. This is just the equivalent of being a couch potato and doing nothing, and don't you ever bother wasting time watching this laden crap full of subpar mediocrity.

Look at what they did to my boy... A travesty. That's what this anime is. Someone stole an IP an did whatever they wanted with it. The setting, characters, and plot are there, I'm not gonna lie, but they've all been tweaked and skewed to the point that this anime is a far cry from the manga. The character's are not portrayed correctly in the least. The MC in particular is a shadow of himself. He's drawn differently first and foremost and he does not operate the way he does in the manga. They straight up cut the beginning of the story out... Horrible... Shame on thosewho did this to such a good manga. Shame shame shame. This is one of my favorite mangas and I highly recommend that. Sitting through this show made me upset.

Odd. I see a lot of bad reviews on this series but I couldn't disagree with them more. At surface level it does seem like just another sub-par Isekai with a OP MC and sadly these bad reviews only see it from the surface.. But under the surface there is something special and if you can't see it or understand it then you either A: watched a couple episodes then made your review or B: have really bad taste in anime and probably think persona 5 is the best jrpg ever made Lol! But I digress, this show is definitely special and has a heavy heartedcharm to balance the light heartedness of the slimes.

You may feel like the MC has no character and lacking a solid back story, but to someone like me, someone who grew watched a lot of inuyasha and played a lot of ps1 jrpgs, the MC is more relatable to me than a lot of other characters in other anime.

So, don't judge the series based on what you think it's about at face value because under the surface there is a charm that is rare, jrpg elements that are even more rare and a unsettling feeling that it's only going to get better and better as the story plays out over a few seasons. Read the manga if you are in doubt.

Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life is the epitome of mediocrity and repetitiveness that plagues almost all of isekai genre shows. This show is so bad that it is actually enjoyable, in the sense that you'd just laugh at the ridiculousness on display. It is as if you already know what will happen, but you can't help but go with the flow mindlessly. My advice is to go into watching the show expecting the worst. As you can already tell, the MC is a generic overpowered protagonist who basically dominates all opposing forces, and screams I'm basically a GOD. He has no emotions or reactions and isbasically lifeless. Every character in the series is so bland and exists solely to advance the plot that they have no distinguishing characteristics and are one-dimensional characters, and is a prime example of how not to write a character. One thing that also bothered me throughout the series is that even when the MC's MP is negative, he can still cast spells, which seems ridiculous and defeats the purpose of MP.

Apart from fighting an evil entity known as Blue Moon of Salvation lurking in the shadows, there isn't much of a story to speak of, and it practically screams boring and fails to entice its viewers. Even the last few episodes where the story is reaching its climax and near the final boss stage, it wasn't really able to capture and entice the viewers that much.

Everything about the show screams bad, from the art to the story to the characters, but that's also what makes it entertaining. The moral the story is trying to promote is that teamwork makes the dream work, which is not particularly convincing given Yuuji's status as a one-man wrecking crew. If you have high standards, I would strongly advise you to skip this show. And if you enjoy isekai trash, can tolerate the show's hilarity, and/or have low expectations in general, you're in for a treat. To be fair, the slimes are adorable, and they are one of the factors that help carry the show.

Tensei Kenja is another overpowered isekai protagonist show, but this time it has slime sidekicks! He effortlessly takes down any normal opponent which would normally require a party, and barely struggles fighting extraordinary boss-level monsters that are a threat to everything in their path. The only danger he is put in is by himself overcasting spells at the cost of HP when he's out of MP. He doesn't seem to have any character growth or much character in general. Most of the "character" is in the slimes he tamed, but even they're fairly two-dimensional. If you are addicted to isekai and need a fix goright ahead, but other than that you won't lose anything by skipping out on this show with an extra long light novel title.

I’m gonna keep it a buck fifty with you, chief. This is dogshit. There’s no other way to put it. First of all, there was no need for this to be an isekai whatsoever. Throughout the show, you’ll get vague flashback images indicating that the protagonist was an office worker in his past life, and he felt some type of way about it. One could call that ‘subtle storytelling’, but we have a word for that kind of subtle storytelling in English. It’s called uninspired and generic. Second, the dude’s name is Yuji. Shut the fuck up. Third, bro gets reincarnated into the fantasy world as a Tamer,the weakest class, only to then acquire the secondary class of Sage, making him the world’s strongest. In principle, that could be the set-up for a fairly interesting hero’s journey, much like Arifureta, which functions on literally the exact same premise, except that whereas Hajime had an actual journey becoming top dog that lasted just about an entire season, Yuji literally wakes up in the otherworld with no explanation whatsoever and within literally 2 minutes and 30 seconds flat he becomes God. I’m serious. I timed it. Riveting.

Fourth, the show looks like ass. The character designs are some of the most colorless and odorless I’ve ever seen – would give Goblin Slayer’s cast a run for its money – and the animation is just trash. There is literally one single sakuga scene in the entire show. Whenever Yuji is about to do serious battle, he swipes the air in front of him with his hand, bringing up a bunch of holographic video game menus and screens to be displayed, which he then uses to cast various abilities or combos. It seemed reminiscent of Yu-Gi-Oh! and Duel Masters. Yes, it looks cool, and I believe I decided to watch this show because I saw a GIF of that, but this anime recycles that same animation countless times throughout its run. I could not believe it. I didn’t think animation studios still did that. I thought the practice died in the 2000s, but apparently not.

It’s not even only that one piece of sakuga they reuse over and over. There’s a forced perspective shot of Yuji’s face where the camera is set way down low, kind of like from under his chin, which makes his face look extremely ugly – a significant downgrade from its usual merely boring. For whatever reason that is beyond my powers of comprehension, the show runners thought not only that that shot was acceptable enough to greenlight for public consumption, but they somehow liked it so much that they reused it literally dozens of times during all manner of dialogue or monologue scenes. Literally why?

Fifth, this dude has no personality whatsoever. He is another in a long line of blank self-insert assholes. He spends 98% of the series donning a completely expressionless face. Then, in episode 5 or so, the show attempts to inject some sliver of a personality into him by turning him into a foodie out of absolutely nowhere. Oh, wow, look! He is motivated by food, get it? Just like literally every shounen protagonist ever, remember? Doesn’t that make you relate to him?

Lastly, because he moves around and talks like a lifeless robot, it was difficult to buy he had formed any kind of emotional investment in this world, so the final fight, though technically kind of nice, fell completely flat for me.

There is literally no reason you should spend your time on this.

"Tensei Kenja no Isekai Life: Dai-2 no Shokugyou wo Ete, Sekai Saikyou ni Narimashita" follows the story of a reincarnated sage who gains a second chance at life in a fantasy world and embarks on a journey to attain the ultimate strength and power. Through his newfound abilities and experiences, he strives to become the strongest being in the world. I would define My Isekai Life as a chill anime with an easy-to-follow storyline and more relaxed approach but it doesn’t lack bumps on the round and fights. Considering this has more “Not Recommended” reviews than it deserves – you need to go into this animewith a certain expectation and that is – it won’t deliver bloodsheds and it won’t deliver some crazy protagonist who wishes to rain over everyone just for the sake of it.

Story 8/10

The storyline of this anime is easy to follow and easy-going all together. The writing doesn’t create any unnecessary and overcomplicated reasons and basis but rather a more simplified logic which put with the personality of the main character fits the vibe good. Still the protagonist has his ambitions and the storyline pushes him towards that goal but compared to the more recent isekai animes this lacks any over the top violence which is not always needed to tell a story.

Characters 7/10

To be honest, I very much prefer the main character’s personality compared to more recent isekai’s where vengeance is the top world priority. With this more chill and relaxed approach Yuuji accomplishes more than any of those characters. He doesn’t lack good logic and doesn’t lack good judgment. As far as character development goes for him – the series is more focused on reveling his character instead of having a major development as the series is more focused on the fact that he already had acquired the needed characteristics and, in this sense, I find it more refreshing than to push a vengeance narrative down the through of the viewer.

What it could be wished for more here would be a little more depth to the side characters as they do seem blunt and just in there on quite a lot of occasions.

Sound 8/10

The voice acting is on a very good level, sound effect wise the anime delivers as well.

The opening is enjoyable, the ending while a bit annoying is customized to the anime, which is always something good.

Art 6/10

The art of this anime is not the most top-notch animation but it’s not an eyesore either, it is somewhat on a more mediocre level and there are quite visible mistakes when it comes to the fighting scenes. The choice of color and vibe are up to the save here and are very well depicted.

Enjoyment 10/10

Personally, I have enjoyed this anime to the max. This was a breath of fresh air when it comes to isekai animes – no stupid and OP MC, no unnecessary violence just to make it more appealing to some people, no anger and vengeance issues on the character side. If you are looking for a more chilled back anime – this one is definitely for you.

While this anime may lack a bit in the animation aspect, the enjoyment of it and the more relaxed storytelling, filled never the less with lots of magic and tricks, give it a very interesting appealing. I would recommend this to people who wish to sit back and enjoy something more light-hearted and clear their head a bit. However, if you are expecting something crazy – definitely skip this.

They did the same mistake about story-telling timeline as Shikkaku Mon no Saikyou Kenja. Is it coincidence, because both anime originated from Novel with same Author. JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE LIMITED EPISODE DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO SKIP FIRST PART OF STORY. Good Anime will use first 1-3 episodes to let you know about MC. But this anime skip everything and fast forward to the fight scene between MC and 10k Monster invasion. What a poor production. I suggest to go read Novel or Manga. MC in Manga have character correspond to some hard-working salary man and design looks different from other Isekai MC.

The isekai genre is definitely evolving in that they are trying to add a unique spin. And, for this anime it is that the MC uses slime to fight. Honestly, not the most unique spin since reincarnated as a slime does this but better. For this anime, the MC isn't all generic innocent, nice boy, which I find to be unrelatable and overused at this point. So that is a plus. I think the idea of the story could have potential, but there are too many issues with the anime itself to be given a score higher than 5 in my opinion. The first major issueis art. It just isn't that nice to look at when there is fighting or any scenes with a lot going on. As a result, it doesn't feel immersive when watching when you can see the individual frames. I recommend watching this show at 1.25 or 1.5x to make it look more fluid. Another issue is the pacing of the story: it moves quite fast. I'd say we reached the 4th arc in just 4 episodes, which is incredibly fast. It's like a new story each episode... way too quick IMO

Is this show worth a watch with these big issues? My answer is that it depends. If you don't mind poor animation and just want to watch an isekai to pass time, then maybe.. Honestly, there are a lot better choices, but if you watch a lot of them already, then this might be you're only option with actual story progression. The MC's past life and how it affects his personality in this world may be interesting. Overall, just an average story isekai with poor animation and fast pacing. Give it a shot if you want to watch it, but don't expect too much from the show.

“What makes an anime bad and boring, and what makes an anime good and engaging?" I would be very honest to say that I greatly underestimated My Isekai Life. I would describe this anime as the "good shit" in a literal way, saying that I didn't believe I could laugh that much at what seemed as “another isekai like we can find masses of”. Alright, now that the hot take is said, you might say to yourself, “Ohh, yet anooooother troll review that would give that piece of turd a 10/10”. I can already see these comments coming. It is by pure evidence by seeing the fulltitle of the anime that comments like this can suddenly arise. This is typical of anime fans that have seen over 300 anime and for people only watching anime for the purpose of reviewing it and/or attracting drama. But here, with this anime, I was able to ask myself a question to which I am not sure to have found my answer yet.

“What can make an anime bad and boring, and what can make an anime good and engaging?"

First, I will tell an anecdote.

During this season that My Isekai Life was broadcasting, I wanted to go back in older seasons to watch an anime called Death March, with a friend, for a joke. Since he was watching My Isekai Life with me and he knew it was going to be just as generic as Death March, he still wanted to give it a chance, which was the worst thing he could do. In the end, we were more than free. It was shit, nothing worse. The story brought absolutely nothing interesting, the characters were just as forgettable, in addition to the dark haired protagonist giving nothing but hate to watch. In other words, annoying. A few days later, this same friend surprised me by forcing me to watch Choyuyu with him, as revenge for making him suffer with me. A political isekai to which I would like to say that it is certainly not bad, but which I was generally bored.

The main reason of why I wanted to make myself suffer on Death March was to cover myself again in what is referred to as a generic (shit) isekai. When we saw the full title of My Isekai Life, we both, like any other individuals, thought “Damn, this looks like shit”. And, through mountains of laughs and "This is the anime of all time"-style memes, that was when I suggested him to watch it with me. And so, we did, while watching Death March and Choyuyu, which we had now finished and hated.

The result, you guessed it.

This was where I wondered, especially for isekai: "Why would Death March suck and why is My Isekai Life enjoyable?" Both carry a similar promise, but… why is one better than the other?!”

We are talking about a protagonist like any other existing isekai. He is listless, dark-haired, doesn't talk much, and got overcheated powers when he was transported to the other world. Yuji, as he is named, will mostly use slimes to summon his almost inexhaustible magic. And… he has to go out and save the world, period.

Let's replace the part I'm talking about with slime and we have the basis for any isekai that may exist. Instead of slime, it's a gun, and we have Death March. You put a phone instead and you have Isekai Smartphone. Instead, a literal mom, and you have Okaa-san Online. Then comes the hatred towards this format, since it is the same thing, but with an attribute that’s supposed to make it different as a goal to stand out. But that doesn't answer the question. It only lowers the format with an argument that I certainly approve of, but which remains ridiculous. It would be to the point of saying that all anime romances suck because we have the same set of characters, with a waifu with a different and more aesthetic character design.

I'm not saying it in force to say that this was the best Isekai I've seen, by far. I'm just confused why people watch this anime with a disbelieving eye.

On our side, my friend and I had seen this anime with a mocking eye. We knew it was going to be shit, yet this anime just unintentionally gave us the opposite. It's still generic, we were surprisingly able to predict less than a quarter of what we kept predicting, but most of all, it was fucking hilarious. More precisely, this ANIME ADAPTATION was hilarious, because it sucked. We even wondered if Reveroot was aware that what they were doing was crap.

Excessive reuse of pre-existing animation, ridiculous repetition in the dialogues, sound design that may come from a stock site, all with a delicious coulis of comedic timing.

It was something we hadn't found when we watched Death March and Choyuyu. “It must be intentional”, we kept saying to ourselves. Have you ever watched a Youtube Poop when it was still popular? This anime was almost an equivalent of that with every Isekai that could ever exist. You expect this anime to be poorly written, which you instantly see when it's called "My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World", but instead of searching for the flaws, you laugh at it because it’s the best way to fully enjoy this anime. Can you imagine if a movie reviewer was forced to watch a Youtube Poop and was asked to review it? It was made for an audience that can parse humor through "the willfully badly done" and it well deserves that audience. Similar to the YIIK community who knows the game is extremely poorly written, but still full of memorable memes and music.

The story is not what stands out from the anime, nor the characters, it is the humor brought by this adaptation that seems deliberately badly done. Again, I'm only talking about the adaptation which is good, since I know even less about what the original light novel is. Maybe the author had written "Yuji does the same movement as in the other five chapters" and Reveroot only literally adapted what was written basic. I’ll never know.

Even as I write this, I know that I would only bring a few people to watch this hilarity. If I want to talk about the jokes, It would destroy the twist of watching this anime, clueless. So why in spite of everything, you wouldn't want to give it a chance. Maybe it's just the title and description that bothers you, because you've seen it over a billion times on other isekai we have every season? Telling yourself that the description is so simple judging, it would be a bit like doing the same for Madoka Magica on MyAnimeList, which does not talk at all about the infamous moment of the anime. Is this then an anime not to be judged by its cover? How ironic!

Nice work Reveroot, as well as Shotou Sinkou. You made me cry laughing even tho it was shit.

This isekai is a ride!

The slimes are the anime version of minions. Need I say more? This show is incredibly generic and boring. I love watching shows that are so bad they are good, I can assure you that this show is not one of those.Nothing unique or of interest is presented in this show. The animation is mediocre to the point that they used the same clip of one of his summons powering up three times in a row in one particular episode. This show has no soul, it’s just a mass produced isekai without any interesting things… UNLESS YOU CONSIDER THE GIMIC OF HAVING A BUNCH OF ANNOYING SLIMESAS HIS COMPANIONS! THEY ARE SO ANNOYING, THEIR VOICES WILL GO INTO YOUR DREAMS AND RUIN YOUR LIFE. Ok that’s a little dramatic but factual. The slimes are just grading and remind me of the minions in all the worst ways.

Essentially this show is boring and generic with the one thing that is has to call it’s own being grading and annoying.

You love Isekai? You will hate this one! There are good Isekai, there are not that good Isekai and then there is this bullcrap. I'm still asking why this was an Isekai at all, because it isn't necessary. The hero is looking bored, really the most of the time like he doesn't want to do this. Not to mention, he's overpowered as hell and really nothing can stand him in any way. He's never in trouble, even they want you to believe. The slimes are funny, but after 2 episodes the fun becomes lame very soon. There is no other character you can like and eventhe girls at the beginning aren't interested to adventuring with the hero. I hope there will no Season 2.

This anime feels like completing side quests in an MMORPG—an experience that’s more about filling time than offering anything meaningful. The dialogue and voice acting often have awkward pauses or broken rhythms, which can be distracting and take away from the overall immersion. It’s as if the characters are speaking in a way that doesn’t flow naturally, making it harder to connect with the story. The lack of storytelling depth and meaningful character progression is also noticeable. Events happen without much purpose, and the plot unfolds in a way that feels shallow and disconnected. There’s no real emotional investment, and the characters don’t evolve inany significant way. Everything just seems to happen for the sake of moving forward rather than offering any substantial growth or exploration. While the anime might be entertaining for those looking for a light, low-stakes experience, it falls short for viewers who want something with more depth and emotional weight. Overall, it’s an anime that feels more like filler than a captivating, well-crafted story.

Actually I'm very disappointed with this anime. I'm disappointed with the MC. And I'm disappointed with the Studio adapting this into Anime. Back in the Manga, Yuuji was someone who seemed cold and rarely showed any emotions. But even though he's like that, he's a character I like because despite being like that, he still cares about other people, and protects things in his own way. And the anime adaptation? Well, it's simply trash. They completely overhauled the concept of Yuuji's character in the manga. The one at first was someone who was cold and cool despite his ordinary appearance. In Anime, they make Yuuji more cringe.And again they made Yuuji smile which is a rarity in the manga. And even more so with the concept of hair that they apply in the anime as if making Yuuji into a kind of 90s anime MC who has big hair from his own head. If you compare it to the one in the manga, the difference is like the sky and the earth's core.

And again when in the episode where he fights the blue dragon, they apply an explosion effect that is common in 90's anime.... I mean it's 2022, what the hell is that?!

Basically, don't watch the anime, it's better for you to read the manga and you'll know what I mean.

TLDR: This Anime is the textbook definition of mediocrity. The show starts off with MC doing generic MC stuff with little to info on whether or not Truck-kun isekaied him. When we were graced with how he's so powerful, it's so lame they only refence that skill once again and it wasn't even useful. And the rest of the show is plot Armor. The end. You could watch 2 episodes side by side at 2x and not miss anything but if you did, just put some random generic isekai trope and you've missed nothing. The fights we, "oh no. this overpowered monster will destroy the village.I have to save everyone" and then he wins without breaking a sweat. If this was one of those shows to which you just switch of your brain to enjoy, I might have given it a 6, but this didn't even try for that.

So why nota 3 or 4 rating? Well, isekai fan will enjoy any trash and the individual scenes are of any typical isekai. It's the bare minimum. Take that for what it's worth.

It's ironic how I thought this show was boring but I ended up enjoying it. For the most part, the story is meh, animation turned out pretty good at the end of the show, and the slimes are all cute, that is a plus. But overall it's just a meh show, BUT it manage to entertain me somehow...? I stopped watching it at episode 4 because it thought it was getting boring. But at the end of the season, I got curious and watched it again. I finished it in a day. Did I enjoy it? Actually yes, but I still think it's a reallymeh show. Nothing's good about it, nothing bad about it. It is actually a family friendly show considering there is none, I mean LITERALLY NONE harem, ecchi, those typical generic isekai tropes in this show except those cute little slimes.

Maybe I manage to finished it in a day because I love the slimes. They are all so cute and the way they interact with Yuji (The Main Character) It's just somehow soothing.

I must say, It's a really weird trip in this season for me. Not only I got entertained by Kuro no Shoukanshi (Isekai anime) but also this show managed to entertain me? I'm not even going to argue if someone said my taste in anime is getting bad.

Anyway, I will not recommend this to anyone since I enjoyed it because of my personal feelings. But if someone do asked me an anime recommendation no matter how bad or good it is, and they are running out of anime to watch, among the other unpopular show, I would also recommended this show.

In the end, it depends on people. Try it with only one episode, if you didn't feel it then stop watching it. That's it from me

I usually love isekai. Nearly every isekai I've watched - and there have been a great many. But let me tell you... this one is trash. Bland as all hell, and the companions are supremely annoying. I don't have a problem with overpowered isekai protagonists. In fact, I usually like them. And sure, this certainly has one. That's not why it's bad. The story is mega lame and it goes out of its way to prevent any kind of character development. Not with the MC, not with any companions (that are largely nameless slimes with annoying voices), and the MC goes out of its way to makeany kind of connections with anyone. Even any past life stuff is lame and bland. It's like "oh, right, I always liked to work on my own." As if that's some kind of past life revelation.

The story's effectively just the OP MC going around from town to town casually solving their problems in OP fashion. There's some rando bad guy plot too, but they're so lame and forgettable you can't even be invested in any of it.

I was able to actually binge the show at least. If it was too much of a slog to even do that then it would've gotten worse than a 4. But it did at least have that going for it.

In recent season(s) there've been a lot of isekai anime about summoners/slime tamers. They've all been way better than this. I'd give this one a pass and not waste your time with it, honestly.

Was gonna give it "Mixed feelings" tag but as I reviewed some of what I wrote before, this is no longer the case as you can see. I really wanted to see the positives of this anime, as it certainly have positive points like art which is the case with most anime, or music which is pretty decent up till time I realize I don't remember any of it, cool fantasy world which has literally no introduction to the viewer, so apart of it looking nice, as in any generic isekai. And those I saw as positive aspects of the story. So let's break it down a bitfor people who went this far to read this jumbled mess of a review.

World building:

A totally generic isekai world. To be honest I wouldn't care less on how MC get's there as it's kinda never a thing of importance really, usually it just set's off MC, and gives him powers, which is not the best but it is some opening, also in some cases it gives excuse to have world explained to MC so viewer also understands it. Well in this case was close to nothing to explain though. Anything about the world is explained "as the story goes" so it gives a vibe of world which is existing for the sake of protag-kun, because nothing is happening in the world beyond what protag-kun is engaged in, so in short the world is just bland backdrop for MC, and things happen only as MC is about to face them.

Music:

I could comment on that one as "non-intrusive" it doesn't take you away from the story, but then it's not really SNK lvl to sink into your memory, which is still better than having bad music which would take you away from action, so I give it a pass still even if it's bland and generic.

Characters:

We have MC, his slime gang, a wolf, and a Driad of which I almost forgot. Let's start with characters in the world, they are not really characters, they are functions, they have to make certain thing for protag-kun, they have no character to speak of, and are a background. Then a tier higher we have protag's minions, slimes etc. they also don't really have character, they follow orders of the master, they don't have ideas on their own or anything so basically they are either scouting, and simply reporting back to MC or they serve as medium for MC powers, no character development, as there is nothing to develop.

Finally MC, he is in story to be stronk and kill things, there is no character development, as he is basically untouchable, he always face highest possible stakes, and always comes victorious because plot armor, which wouldn't be needed, if stakes at the beginning were lower, and simply allowed MC to make mistakes, you can still make MC OP, but also human at the same time. He dopes not undergo any psychical trials or anything, and when he face enemy, with power of asspulls he wins (we'll get to that in power-system section soon), so in short this character does not grow, because he have no room left to do so, and in situations which could be turn to learning experience instead of lesson he's given power to deal with it. And yea I get it it's power-fantasy, but FFS please make sense, any sense.

Power-system:

Let's start with, MC is only thing which we can see any stats off, which puts his literally nowhere in the world in relation to anything around. The same stats also don't make sense when MC is able to go literally like over -9000% MP and still fight without any consequences, there was some attempt early on to show those, but judging from later eps, the sole idea of going into negative stats is making existing of said stats meaningless because MC can still do whatever he likes, or needs to do. His minions can perfectly transfer his energy to the fullest potential, which we don't know why as the audience of the show, they can transfer the most powerful spells for some reason though. Also MC have access to literally all the spells in the world, and if those are not sufficient, he can create new ones, as he pleases, there is some attempt at making it look like he's searching for appropriate effects etc, but it's just to give you a feeling that it means something, while it's just an easy asspull by the writer.

I could summary this anime as a world that has no reason for existing except for OP and invincible protag-kun to be in there, kind of story. Don't get me wrong I like my power-fantasy just as the next guy, but then I like it to make sense, and to feel alive. I'm not granting this show rating of 1 simply because I did see way more atrocious shows, but then this one is not the one I would recommend you watch.

The story is pretty meh, the big bad the mc fights is unrelatable with totally unclear goals that just exist to be something for the MC to flex against. Side characters are uninteresting with comically little backstory to them, this is pure self-insert power fantasy for escapists. The only thing of note I'd say was there didin't seem to be any kind of romance sub-plots or fan-service which is refreshing. The main character is slightly more interesting than your typical blank mc, he is quite timid and unemotional carrying the feel of someone whos whipped, though they just had to make it literal re-incarnation rather thanrelate it to irl things via clever writing and messaging.

Animation was fine, I spotted a few reused frames in like 2 episodes, last episode had some nice animation in a fight, I don't remember seeing any 3D CGI monsters, honestly its a blur but I don't recall any so thats nice.

Its just plain ol brainless isekai "look how strong" mc is and it does it... fine.
