Lot's of hate for this show. I thought it was pretty fun.....and at no point did I want to stop watching. It kept me out of my own head for a little while, which is all that really matters to me. Nothing new, nothing ground breaking, nothing deep, no emotions evoked, and nothing amazing. You can see everything coming from a mile a way....but what's wrong with that? I've dropped many shows that are similar to this, but for some reason I never had the urge with this one. Oddly enough....it actually entertained me. It was light, simple, cheesy, and fun. I'm gladthat I found it and I recommend it as a time killer.....as long as your expectations are realistic you might enjoy it.

I'd like to see another season somewhere down the road.....cause there's always a show hole to be filled.

I love Isekai. I hate Isekai, when the fantasy world is stale. I love Isekai, when it's done right. I hate isekai, when it just feels oh-so-wrong. I love Isekai, more so in the form of parodies because they are comedic and subvert expectations. I hate Isekai, when the content amounts to nothingness. I love Isekai, even when it feels like trolling trash. I hate Isekai, when it's unbelievably actual trash. I love Isekai, but Shinka no Mi is legit dysfunctional trash deep down to the very core. I hate Isekai. And the cycle repeats itself all over again. Where thou art are you, Isekai God???

Hoo boy, where should I really start with this one? It's no doubt yet another one of those shows with the Isekai Reincarnation setting, combined with the story that's very akin to Isekai Spider or even Arifureta, and has comedic moments like last season's Tsukimichi. But make no mistake when I tell you that Shinka no Mi a.k.a The Fruit of Evolution by novelist Miku has none of all of the above's exquisite taste whatsoever, in the span of the wide standard wish-fulfillment fantasy that peaks at its most ridiculous and garish. I kinda liked Spider-sekai and Arifureta even more so, even if the animation is garbage, much less Tsukimichi being self-aware about its parody and elevates that comedy into something worth watching. Sure, Shinka no Mi has all that, but trust me, you'd find yourself gawking in awe of how horrible the absurd story plot is with the same character archetypes gone haywire up to 11, coupled together with yet again, horrible animation. Hello, what is the Hotline that I can call for help!?

The story itself (or plot rather) can be dumbed down to these obvious truths: imagine if the MC is like Arifureta's Hajime Nagumo or Spider-sekai's Kumoko playing the usual reincarnation formula with his/her class but has the looks like Tsukimichi's Makoto Misumi, only fatter. That's who Seiichi Hiiragi is: an ugly fatso that with the dawn of the Isekai reincarnation light, gets transported away from the rest of his class, whose duty is to repel the Demon Lord and his army. Since Seiichi didn't like the fact that even in the fantasy world he still looks ugly and unglam AF, there's the secret formula: the Fruit of Evolution. Eat 10 of these and you'll evolve into to becoming the stereoptypical good-looking generic MC #69420 who is certified OP and continues to gain more altitude and powers to become ridiculously strong. The best part is that these nut-like "fruit" are abundant everywhere, so levelling up is a cinch. When in an Isekai did it become so easy and lax just to be the center of attention? Only in Shinka no Mi, you will be.

The cast of characters are a total joke. Seiichi Hiiragi for one, IDK why he has such a childlike voice, only dialled up to 11 in the cringe aspect, and I'm in total disbelief that someone like Hiro Shimono could VA his character. It's as if that Hiro Shimono had been inhaling helium just to get that intended voice, and it's very annoying that I had to turn down the volume umpteen times just to avoid hearing Seiichi's rug-tug expressions. The harem of girls that come after Seiichi's way aren't so hot either. Beginning with the red gorilla Saria, I always find myself facepalming the unbelievable relationship between human and gorilla, not even after the transformation into a pretty-looking girl with HanaKana's voice in it. The next person to come: the Calamity Artoria Gremm, who's claim to fame is only that she is a misfortune through and through. Everyone who swarms around her leads to their deaths(resulting in her Calamity nickname), and it only took both Seiichi and Saria to accept her that she is willing to drop her guard and confide trust in them.

While I can confide that at the very least both Saria and Artoria had the most screentime around Seiichi for their characters to be fleshed out, the one that come after only becomes more ridonculous like Lulune the donkey, Louise Balze the Valkyrie warrior, Oliga Calmeria the slave cat and Karen Kannazuki (going off the actual photo with the obvious harem of girls). I understand that harems can be both good and bad, but while Tsukimichi has beautiful god-like mature adult beasties at Makoto's side, Shinka no Mi just goes with the flow to accept all that comes Seiichi's way, regardless of their origin stories. If you want to incorporate a harem, fine, make sure that it has appeal, but not to the stupidity of being sacrilegious with the absurdity that mind-boggles your audience.

You want to know what's the bigger mind-boggling sin of this show? The garbage animation, that despite feel. and Children's Playground Entertainment (the studio producing this season's Saihate no Paladin a.k.a The Faraway Paladin) collab name on this list, both studio's aren't at fault for this for helping (cooperation) with the production. If you need an entity to blame, vent your frustrations at the totally relative and unknown studio Hotline instead, of which funnily enough, adding the production staff (even the director) altogether, all went into definite hiatus since 2013 (well, except for scriptwriter-cum-series composer Gigaemon Ichikawa who mainly worked on children shows). That should immediately tell you that as much work as they've done in the past, no amount of time gone will ever repair the fact that this show was lazily done and just to get by the day for "acceptance" quality. I don't even think that the novelist Miku also batted an eye on his/her work, because the earlier incarnation of yet another work of his/hers (Isekai de Cheat Skill) just shows that the writing prowess will forever be trash. But since trash work goes hand-in-hand with even trashier production, the adage of "birds of a feather flock together" is the right way that I can sum all of this.

Sound-wise, it's also outright bad. Is this really that dull and mundane, because it truly is to let the OST of Yoshino Nanjo's OP and Poppin'Party's ED sink the fact that they're both unimpressive songs, and not even mediocre, let alone decent ones at that. Usually I don't expect much of the music department to ever hold itself up, but wow is this some of the worst OSTs that I've heard in watching anime for years, and I'm an anime OST Maestro myself to really know what's hot and what's not.

You don't need me to tell you that throughout this review I've been ranting that after the brillance of Summer 2021's Tsukimichi as a parody Isekai, with Shinka no Mi, we finally felt what it was like on the other end of the spectrum, where the grass is definitely not greener on the other side. For one good thing we can trade for a bad thing, but Shinka no Mi is a show that if you liked what you saw, that's because you watch it as a troll or joke to get the enjoyment values out of it. I really want to laugh at how horrible this show is, but my brain cells have suffered too long just to voice all of these "shitty" opinions.

Trash? Definitely. Worth watching? NOT recommended.

If it's an Isekai genre then you have already hooked me up! After watching the first episode I asked myself "This is definitely the worst first ep I have seen in a while, isn't it?". After 2nd ep, "what the f*** I am watching?" The animation and sound was like a hentai studio work lol, Really poor animation and sound quality! It kinda gives you "Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou" vibes. Here is a brief summary of the show-

The plot follows Seiichi Hiragi, an ordinary high-schooler who is sadly being bullied in school in front of everyone because he is fat and no one fu**ing cares even the game system bullies him by giving him, Race-"Barely Human" cause he is fat, Gender-"Creepy Male" again cause he is fat. In a sense, this anime thinks being fat is cursed! Wtf is this plot? After that, he ends up in another world where he eats a mysterious “evolution fruit”. Some stuff happens and then he meets a certain gorilla and she falls in love with mc and wants to marry him, later Gorilla evolves into acute waifu(WTF).

It also has "A typical Isekai harem set up where girls fall in love with mc for no fuc*ing reason whatsoever!

I will still continue watching this series(finger crossed), just out of curiosity, how bad it can get. In the first 4 episodes, I think it has already hit the bottom!

I never have left a review before, but after seeing the only one on here was fairly negative(and compared this as a few others did to Arifureta, which I don't think is a bad thing as I really enjoyed that as well. Although that show is MUCH darker, this is more on the humor side) So I felt the need to leave one to give a more optimistic take on it. Let me first just say that I love Iseaki, and I really enjoy comedy Isekai like Konosuba, Tsukimichi, and Cautious Hero, so I figured I would enjoy this from the beginning. If youare one of those people that sees the word Isekai and automatically goes into the show expecting to hate it based on that then guess what? You'll probably hate it, but I guess that would go for any show you go into it with such a negative mindset and only looking for the flaws instead of just trying to enjoy yourself which should be the point of all shows unless you are a professional critic. This show doesn't take itself too seriously(Best Girl is a damn Gorilla), it's just a fun isekai with good humor, and I just enjoy it from beginning to end because this is the type of stuff I enjoy and I don't go into it expecting the Best Anime of the Year candidate. I knew from the trailers what I was getting myself into, but not only did it hit that for me, it also exceeded that for me. I like MC although he's a little ridiculous, Saria is great and the new character that was just introduced is also a great character already. So anyway go into this with an open mind if you like Isekai and comedy Isekai and you will probably enjoy yourself. Can't wait to see where the rest of the season takes us.

This show, or rather, this fantasy fufillment of an adaptation lives up to its standards of being one of the biggest jokes this year. Jokes are meant to bring laughter but for Shinka no Mi Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei, that translates to an embarassing testament of exactly what's wrong with the isekai trope. When you have a gorilla as a main character, there's more than red flags than raised. We live in a world where literally anyone can come up with an idea and put it together to sell a product. I don't know what the author was thinking when they crafted this show'spremise but is anyone actually impressed by the promotional material on this MAL page? If you look over the preview videos and promotional poster, what you see is a boring generic main protagonist surrounded by a colorful cast of cute girls. Oh wait, you can barely see the guy! He's there in the background looking like a fool, because that's what he is, at least from his past. In the fantasy world, male protagonist Hiiragi Seiichi turns into a champion with a gorilla girl as a companion. Before you start firing questions at what that means, it basically spells out all the wrong ingredients on how to sell a proper story.

Now, I will say the anime makes a bold attempt at trying to win the audience over. What went wrong? It's because Hiiragi is the one of the most boring characters you'll witness. He's just a kind person with no special traits or characteristics that defines his character. Really, that's about all I can say for Hiiragi because his character has no depth, development, or unique qualiies. Gorilla girl Saria isn't any better after she turned into a human through evolution. Yeah, that's right. She went from an animal into a human because the show's plot demands it. When we see her as a human, there's really no change to her personality at all. And really, she's just as lackluster as Hiiragi.

The rest of the character cast are far from intriguing. We have tomboy adventurers like Altria, to sadists like Ellis. Others such as the cat girl Origa Carmelia (that's right, this anime can't be complete with a cute catgirl) or Valkyrie leader Louise felt like something crafted with no coherent effort. The only character that added some slight interest to the show may be Kannazuki Karen. She adds a more mature tone to the anime but unfortunately, the show's plot makes little effort to develop her story. To sum it up, this anime's character cast seemed like it was made by a whim or as if the author wrote them from their wildest fantasies.

Among the various sins this anime commits, the story is perhaps the biggest bust. Let's face it, this anime's plot really had no direction or even an idea what it's trying to do. Some episodes introduces to new characters while almost every episode jokes around with itself. The jokes in the anime quickly wears out because if you've seen it once, it feels like you've seen them all. And finally, don't expect this anime's character relationships to be deep or meaningful. An interspecies romance between Hiiragi and Saria is best described as childlike at best and dumpster fire at worst. And that's what sums up this anime altogether. It's a dumpster fire.

No, studio feel, Children's Playground Entertainment, and its producers could not save this anime from being a bad joke with its animation quality. The character designs looks cartoony and outdated compared to modern standards. Every scene in this anime feels like a sitcom gone wrong. Really, even the action scenes are mostly forgettable and the overall chereography kills any sort of value the show had. I'm sorry to say this but Shinka no Mi Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei really represents the worst of what isekai can offer. It's that terrible.

'The Fruit of Evolution' is allegedly an anime television series based off a light novel of the same name, but personally, I take issue with this dubious origin story. In 1969, Adam Levine published a notoriously controversial text — one that, without doubt, had a substantial impact on perceptions of religion, morality, media censorship, and even on the very substrata of modern culture. There are many factors attributed to our divergence from faith, but none can as succinctly elucidate this drift as a question I asked myself as a child — and one that many people have pondered upon: "Why?" Why? Why am I being told this? Forwhat purpose, and with what explanation?

Clearly, the author of this series had similar thoughts. Only a blind man could create something so profoundly devoid of light. On that note, here's a quote from the aforementioned Satanic Bible:

"Can the torn and bloody victim 'love' the blood-splashed jaws that rend him limb from limb?"

Allow me to correct for context.

"Can the unfortunate viewer of this show 'love' the cursed world in which they were born, just to suffer through it?"

No, they can't. I can't. I have no more faith left — not in God, not in myself, not in the world.

...

'The Fruit of Evolution' reaches a degree of flagrant incompetence that I didn't think possible. To refer to it as 'bad' is insulting to anything I've ever called, well, merely bad. It's incomprehensibly terrible. It stoops so far below the realm of mediocrity that it's absurd. There's not a singular positive quality: the animation is dull, ugly, inconsistent, and stiff; the characters are fools with no actual 'character' whatsoever aside from the most mind-numbingly tropey bullshit; the humor is lame, immature, and in utterly poor taste; there is no depth to the story, nor any semblance of interesting or detailed writing or theming anywhere to be seen.

I swear on all that is holy, one of the most important scenes in the entire series is literally only possible because the authors forgot how to do basic multiplication. That's how little effort it was made with. Not only that, you know what the annoying, bland, unfunny, uncool, pathetic excuse for a protagonist says in spite of this?

"It's basic math!"

You're a basic bitch. You also made out with a gorilla. Freak.

(Updated review after episode 4 to comply with MAL's Review Guidelines) With only 4 episodes out at the time of writing, there is a chance that this show pulls something... ANYTHING out of its hat... I doubt it, though. I'll go out and say it. This show is just mind-numbingly boring. This isn't one of the "Ex-Arm"'s or "The Room"'s or any number of other actually atrocious shows of the world. Those at least had the decency to be so bad they were enjoyable. We have generic LN Isekai protagonist no.1652 version. "Fat loaner" in generic world 537. Type "Demon lord threat" with passable art, sound and flat design.OK, so far so standard. We have had three of these at least each season for the last few years. But what sets this show apart from just being average and generic but potentially enjoyable is its characters and plot.

None of the cast shown so far have shown anything but being an unfunny, unimaginative rag which my pass as a caricature of a trope if you squint... a lot.... while hammered.

Now, all of this could still be excused and somehow be made passable by a vaguely interesting plot, but here the show commits its final sin. Now, you may be here because you hear of it being described as the "monke" isekai. This slightly intruding plot point could have gone places, but no its a single episode waifu of the week plot which is instantly resolved by turning her into generic waifu no.832 "red hair, house skills" and pushed to a side for a non sequitur of disconnected beats which are probably meant to be the "plot" for genric waifu no.833 "Tsun, bad luck"

The show has nothing, offers nothing, and can be nothing. Even writing this review is giving it more thought or energy than it really should get

This review will contain minor spoilers - however this isnt a particularly plot driven anime so it really doesnt matter. Fruit of evolution appears like it attempted to be a generic and average isekai, the type you usually see at least 2 of each season, and yet somehow it failed to copy and paste the same standard formula that all the other clique isekai have adopted. Now full disclosure, I personally enjoy trashy isekai. I know I will go and see a doctor eventually. However, even my underserved love for the standard isekai traits could not make me actually like this anime. In this review I willexplain why.

Firstly there is no plot, this isnt particularly surprising for a trashy isekai but it would've been nice to see one nonetheless. Instead the protagonist just seems to wander around almost randomly building his harem and abilities as he goes. Those two aspects in particular will be the focus of my criticism as they are the key aspects of most trashy isekai.

The harem itself is unique to say the least. This anime, for reasons I cannot begin to fathom, put an unexpected twist on his harem.

He marries a gorilla.

Yes she turns into a beautiful woman later on, but he fell in love with her before she did so. He also gets a Donkey that turns into a girl but that wasn't even surprising at that point.

As well as this, there's none of the satisfaction of him getting a harem. The girls just immediately fall head over heels in love with him the moment he sees them. For example, the only human girl officially part of his harem (in the anime at least) is meant to be a loner who purposely keeps away from people and yet seems to fall in love with him about 5 minutes after meeting with no actual actions from the MC himself.

Its not worth writing too much about how OP the main character is. As per isekai rules he becomes outrageously overpowered almost instantly and without any effort, yet infuriatingly he keeps complaining about his new powers despite there being literally zero negative consequences. Obviously, he never uses any of them effectively but still manages to slay the most powerful monster in existence, so there's no need to worry if he's the strongest or not.

Moving on from the plot, the studio itself didnt do the anime any favours. The animation quality is terrible, something which doesnt work well when trying to animate cool fights with magic flying around, and the music/ost was forgettable at best. That said, if the animation and music was incredibly high quality then it would only feel out of place considering how low effort the actual story was, but that doesn't justify the end result.

Moving on from classic isekai traits, I will mention the other main focus of this anime, comedy.

Comedy is meant to be subjective so I wont go on an egotistical rant about how my taste in comedy is superior to anyone who likes this anime, however I personally found it was very hit or miss, miss being the most common result. I will begrudgingly admit, though, that I chuckled at a couple of jokes but the overall quality of the comedy was about as good as everything else.

So... since ive been insulting it so much, why have I given it a 4 and not a 1? Firstly, as previously mentioned I have an irrational love for trashy isekai and although I hated almost everything about this anime, it was still an easy way to turn off my mind for 20mins. I never found myself actively dreading each Monday when I would watch it like I have for some anime.

(*cough* See my review on Seven deadly sins dragon's judgement *cough*)

Furthermore, the anime knows that it is low effort and this works in its favour. Some anime attempt to be a high quality and well done masterpiece and it only makes it fall harder when it ultimately fails to reach that standard. Fruit of evolution simply doesnt try and doesnt raise your expectations as a result. You know you're going to watch something trash and you get what you expected.

Overall, do I recommend you watch this anime?

Of course not, this show sucks. There is literally no reason to watch this, there are better things out there that exceeded this anime in all qualities.

However, I was able to make it through all 12 episodes without any major negative symptoms so if you read this and still really want to watch it, im not going to try to stop you.

Thanks for reading my review!

THIS SHOW IS A PARODY AND A GOOD ONE AT THAT So you can immediately ignore all of the people who are bombing this show in reviews and on the forums that are treating this like an ordinary isekai. We've even got people comparing this to Arifueta (a poorly written chuni's power fantasy). This show at no point ever wanted to be taken seriously, and never tried to be taken seriously. How is it that, the LN readers got this and is reflected on the LN page, but so many people on the anime page didn't get this? Yes, it is a parody, the show is a comedy. Allof those people are going, huh duh, generic plot, generic charachters, generic stage setting etc. Yes, thats the whole f**** point. That is what a parody is. You take a story and use that as the setup for your gag. You deliberately exaggerate stuff for comedic effect (and this show does it in abundance). You go off on tangents because you can. Are you going to tell me that Konosuba did not feature a generic Isekai plot, and had no tropes or cliche whatsoever? A parody takes the tropes, it takes the cliches and it turns them into gags.

/end rant and onto the main review.

The premise:

You've got mr MC who is generic bullied kid in class, fat, stinks and has no appealing characteristics (even his status window considers him, and i quote "barely human"). The only thing he has going for him is that he is 'innocent' and nice?. The class gets transported to the other world, but he is left out without a group. The god transporting them takes pity on him and gives him plot armour. He somehow gets accidentally transported into a the most dangerous forest around and must figure out how to survive.

Everytime he beats a monster, he acquires their skills, and a backstory which is a minature gag, often making light of one trope or another.

Art 7/10

The art is solid, and works in concert with the music. There's nothing overly special about the art, but the mix of artstyles and even dropping into pixelated art is notable.

Music 7/10

The music is solid and makes it completely obvious that this show is a comedy. It is comedy music, and works well with what is on screen. There is nothing overtly memorable, but nor does it need to be.

Characters 7/10

There is nothing special about the characters. However, they are purposefully unique. The writer has taken a trope and made that character the definition of that trope. We've got Mr Abs. We've got calamity girl. Most notable is how the demon army is portrayed (as a circus troupe instead of an actual threat). No character is ever taken too seriously.

Story 7/10

The story is generic, but it doesn't need to be a new dramatic story. If we look at one of the greatest parodies of all time on this genre, Konosuba. Would you say anything about Konosuba's story is not generic? What made Konosuba was not the initial premise, it was the comedy within the premise.

Enjoyment 8/10

This is without a doubt a very good parody and parody anime of this genre are quite rare. This is certainly not Konosuba tier parody, but it is better than VR Hell. The comedic timing is very onpoint and the gags don't detract from the flow of the story. The book gags are also hilarious.

If you like'd Hinamatsuri, this is right up your alley.

This isekai anime changed my life Before watching this anime, I was a filthy dwarf. After watching this anime, I turned into a 7 feet tall chad isekai fan and my door is flooded with hot anime girls 24/7 Story: 10/10 The story is spectacular with no plot holes and perfect writing, I have never seen such a satisfying story before (other than Isekai Smartphone) Art: 10/10 The art of this anime is better than the art of animes produced by KyoAni and Studio Ghibli, and I can never look at other animes the same way as before. Sound: 10/10 The incredible sound recordings of this anime made my ears feel ecstaticeven with my crappy 10$ headphones.

Character: 10/10

The character development of this anime is the best I have seen. The main character, Seichi, had more character development than characters of all animes I have watched combined together.

Overall: 10/10

I enjoyed this anime very much and I cannot wait for the Season 2 of this!

The first part of this review is just going to be an explanation as to why I gave this show the score I did. The second part is gonna be a rant as to why it's a bad show and what should change (A lot of spoilers). Last part is gonna be a summary for those who want to skim through this. Story 6/10 Don't you just love a cliche run of the mil Isekai show where the main is op and has a harem, cause I do. I love Isekai whether it be a masterpiece like Overlord or a dumpster fire like The Master of Ragnarok,I think that they all are special. This show has some of the most cliche writing ever. Man is sent to another world, gets harem and has to defeat random enemy (Most of the time demon lord). But just like every other Isekai there is a twist. So, what is this twist you might ask? That is a very good question and despite me watching every episode I can come down to one. It's a cringy comedy that tries to be serious sometimes. Imagine if Konosuba had a genuine serious moment that was supposed to make you feel something, now imagine it having random characters that are boring (with a few exceptions). That is a summary of the story.

Art 3/10

OH MY GOD DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE ART. Remember when I said that it was a cringy show trying to be a serious show, well the art helps my case. It looks so bad, not ex-arm bad but you get the idea, a lot of the "serious" moments could have been a lot better if the animation could get me to take it seriously. It's like if a 6 year old came up to me with a picture of a frowny face and expected me to cry.

Sound 4/10

I don't pay much attention to sound but what I do pay attention to is the openings and endings. (You can just skip them, so you can skip this part). Opening was one of the worst ones I have ever seen in my life. No key information about the story just a bunch of flashes of the main heroine and the other main heroine, then at the very end of the opening two random fight scenes against people introduced at the end of the show. The ending is something I really don't care about much because it really isn't something that creators care about. It was still bad but I guess I care less about it.

Characters ): 4/10 (Slight spoilers)

Isekais always know how to legally plagiarize when it comes to characters. I mean the main character isn't even that interesting. Main heroine is, how do I put this, a literal monkey. So this man fell in love with a monkey. Second main heroine a.k.a Altria a.k.a pointless isn't even really needed in the story. They could've saved three or four episodes if they didn't have her which could've made the story a lot more interesting considering the ending, but more on the later. We also have a donkey, a warrior/valkyrie, and a catgirl assassin. The most interesting characters were probably the catgirl and the valkyrie since they actually have something that relates to politics. The stupidest character has to be Altria. We spent three or four episodes on her just for her to become a girl in the MC's harem. They could've spent those episodes trying to focus on the main problem at hand, or even using it to do some world building. Not saying she's the only pointless one, every single character is pointless, even the MC, (except the classmates I guess) I'm just saying that I found some of them interesting. The characters only contribute to the shows cringy comedy aspect instead of focusing on something that we might find interesting. Then we have the side characters which are a very sad excuse of comedy. You can tell that the creator thought that the side characters were funny and unique. In the end though they were very special, mentally that is.

Enjoyment 7/10

At the end of the day nothing else matters except for our enjoyment. Despite it being a cringy show with all its flaws, I still enjoyed it. I could have been so much better but in the end, we got what we got and there is no changing it. I do not recommend this show unless you are a higher form of being, such as myself, who can fully grasp the complexity and intelligence put into the art form that is known as Isekai. Honestly though, if I watched this show without the weekly break, I probably wouldn't be able to finish it.

THE RANT (Heavy spoilers, but you're not gonna watch anyway)

Alright now that were done with all the vegetables, we can finally get down to the meat and potatoes. So first off, what was that introduction. God comes over the intercom saying I'm gonna transfer you to another world so pair up. MC is getting bullied randomly as this is happening. Keep in mind this is only the first 2 minutes of the show, so I feel no empathy or sympathy for this man. It would have been so much cooler if they showed his daily life and show why he was getting bullied (besides being fat). Second what's the deal with him falling in love with a monkey who then becomes a women. Would have been a better choice to introduce her as an adventurer who saves him from the monkeys. You might be thinking, "What about the random sheep that's there for 5 minutes and never shows up again," and to that I say, what sheep. Third, GET RID OF ALTRIA she is so pointless. We literally spend a whole episode with her running around trying to figure out she's in love. WHYYYY though. That precious time could be spent on something like world building or information gathering. Last key problem, WHY DID YOU WAIT TILL THE VERY END TO ADRESS THE PROBLEM. It took twelve episodes for this man to finally go see his friends and hopefully save them. Oh wait, no it didn't cause the interaction didn't happen yet. At the very end of the story when he can finally meet his classmates and we can have an explanation as to what may be going on, the show ends. This show will probably never get a second season cause of how stupid this show is.

Summarize this all up don't watch the show, or do, I really don't care but just keep in mind that this is another Isekai. Average story, bad art, bad sound, annoying characters. Still, I enjoyed it, so I gave it a six. Still kinda hoping for a second season (Spoiler) cause I love seeing Isekais with a school in them.

(This is my first review, sorry if it's bad)

I never write reviews because i think that my opinion is already represented good enough in other peoples reviews and because my english is not good enough to fully cover all my thoughts. But this time it is different. This time it feels like a heavy burden lays on my shoulders and i need to guide others around this massive mistake that consumes important lifetime which you could have spend on sharpening pencils or peeling cherries. I LOOOOVEE Trash-Overpowerd-MC-Fantasy-Harem-Isekais but this one right here made me suffer serious brain damage. I will make it short so you can start with every other activity on this planetbesides watching this show.

Trash Story

Trash "worse-than-hentai" Art

lazy sounddesign

trash boring minus one-dimensional characters

But why 3 not 1??

1 point for pretty waifus

1 point for the few good jokes

and 1 point for kissing gorillas (amazing 11/10)

Thanks bye

This one opens on the wrong foot. Honestly in three minutes flat I HATED this show and was ready to drop it. The main message of this show is one thing. Be attractive. No joke, the main character is bullied by his classmates, classified as "barely human" by the game... just because he's chubby. The show continues with that theme as the thing that made him not just thin but so beautiful he needs to hide his appearance was the fruit of evolution. That again, he EVOLVED to be attractive. This extends to the gorilla you see in the poster, gone by episode two by the way.no ugos allowed, be beautiful only.

Sadly the show has nothing to say past this point. Every episode is game Isekai 101 only done very poorly OR it's ripping off episodes from other series and just placing them in random places to fill up the run time.

There are times when the punchline is... disturbing... In one side gag the "joke" was that the MC was going to get gang raped by men. The joke is, that they're gay... Oh and this is fine socially, it's their way of introducing themselves to all new male members and so far nobody has escaped...

That joke again in case you missed it, they're gay so obviously they rape any man they see... Transphobia at it's finest... (Barf!)

The art style reminds me of older cheap hentai style from the mid 2000s.

The characters have no personality and instead depend on exaggerated responses... for no real reason.

Animation is not too bad at first but starting episode 4 the cracks are starting to show with recycling and still shots to cut costs.

Enjoyment is zero. I had to take breaks per episode while watching it was so bad.

I'll be honest, a part of me thinks they made this on purpose hitting all the wrong notes just to fuel negative attention but a more cynical part thinks no, it's just an inapt attempt to cash in on a popular genre so they focused mostly on the waifu designs for merch & figurine sales.

Isekais are like a dime a dozen these days. They truly are, and in most cases, you may either be tired of them, or just hope it's an interesting enough show, to be passable and enjoyable, so that you're not wasting your time, and eye rolling at it all. Most things just have to click in place for it all to work. Which is something that this show can do, but it also can not do at the same time. I've seen the top reviewer so far at this stage as I am writing this, say it gives the vibe of Arifureta. When that couldn't bemore further than the truth. Arifureta tried to paint a tragic and sad backstory, and made the MC look like some edgy cringe teenage get powerful. While this. This feels more on the Konosuba vibes. While of course not being as good, but it's no where near Arifureta in terms of it's presentation. While Arifureta tries to be hardcore, and falls on death ears. Shinka is just complete randomness from start to finish. A show that you're not supposed to take seriously it seems, compared to a show like Arifureta, which they were trying to make you take it seriously.

The only connection the two shows have, is that the whole class got Isekai'd, and that is pretty much it when it comes to anything they have in common. The story is very weird, and will more than likely go in all sorts of directions as we go along for it's wild ride.

It's also reflected in it's art style and sound. Along with it's animation. Being purposely over the top balls to the wall crazy at times. Instead of just being plain and dull, like certain usual Isekais that come in each and every season. The whole thing all together just screams that instead of watching a normal Isekai, of which it seems the MC's classmates are on, you're watching/focusing on the odd one out, who is out there, and meeting and encountering the most random things possible. A better comparison, would be to say it's a toned down Sentouin, Hakenshimasu! If anything.

It's also reflected in the characters. Even if they do fall under very generic tropes, and there are cases that too much random can be bad, and it does come across in their mind of trying too hard. But they're pretty OK as characters go. But it's just. Really incredible that we now have a Gorilla waifu of all things. I think that's just hilarous if anyting. Looks like Jimmyhere finally has a waifu.

This show will be a hit or miss, it really will. But the randomness of it, might catch your eyes, like it has done me.Give it a shot, and see for yourself if you will like it or not.

This anime is a prime example of why you can't just go by reviews/show ratings! I feel like a lot of folks are missing the point It's ridiculous and makes fun of itself, which is the main reason why it's enjoyable to watch. If you want to watch an isekai where the MC suffers, watch Re:Zero But if you want to watch an overpowered MC live out his harem dreams(Zenitsu), watch this! I'm actually surprised this anime isn't listed as a parody because it does a VERY good job of making fun of 'those" kinds of anime. Also, Kana Hanazawa!!!!

I didn't realize how long this needed to be, so uhh, my birthday is next week :D

I’m not gonna lie—it’s bad. So bad that it actually ends up being funny. Our fat loser MC becomes ultra-OP in minutes, gains every broken skill imaginable, suddenly looks like a model, and somehow every girl (and even animals) magically turn into cute anime waifus for him. Like… what is even going on here? The “story”? If you can even call it that. It’s bland, directionless, and feels like it’s just making things up as it goes. Depth or world-building? Forget it. Meaningful romance or actual emotions? Nope, not here—who needs that anyway? Artstyle-wise, it’s mediocre. Sure, some of the girls are drawn with extra detail invery specific places, but that’s typical for shows leaning into ecchi. Nothing special beyond that.

Overall: I don’t think anyone will get much out of this anime besides maybe a few dumb laughs. Honestly, it feels like a total waste of time… and yet, here I am about to start Season 2.

There are so many issues with this show to be discussed. Let me say this: If you are looking for Isekai slop with an OP MC and insane powerscaling for only him, where he collects a harem of women, then while this show technically meets your standards, there are so many better options for you to consider. I don't strictly suggest you avoid this show, but I will get into the various crucial factors that make this show unbearably boring. Firstly, all of the characters are extremely bland and fall into tropes that have been run through without any exploration or interest. The only thing thatcan be said in this shows favor on this front is the sadistic guild receptionist and exhibitionist guildmembers. This is the only bit of halfway decent comedy in the entire show and it gets old fast when you are constantly reminded that it's the only good part of the show. The waifus are all dreadfully bland and follow the standard justification where the first one is fine with a harem so the rest just go along with it.

The characters in the show are dreadfully dense. I am not sure if this is an active choice by the author / screenwriters, or if this is an issue with the dub, but there are probably about five plotholes per episode of varying size, some of which are so blatant that they will really stand out as just being absurd. For example of a relatively minor point, very early on they obtain a ring which multiplies luck by -2, and they incorrectly say that for negative luck this would make your luck 0. There are more severe examples but honestly you get numb to them after a while and just have to turn your brain off watching this show.

The title gimmick of the show is that after consuming multiple of the fruit of evolution, the main character becomes an insanely strong being. Aside from one instance in the race, the fruits don't play a role in the show after the first two episodes. The premise of the show and name being such a minor factor in the actual plot feels a bit lackluster, like we aren't really dealing with a coherent or well thought out story. Of course it is supposed to be a comedy but it really fails on that front valiantly, and hence serves only as a generic harem power fantasy story. To that end, I think there are better options out there even for shows where you don't want to have to think about what is going on.

The animation and audio are also lackluster. They repeat the same four or five generic sountracks for every scene, the dubbing is fine but some characters are off kilter, and the animation is definitely lacking a lot. Characters are frequently off model even when no joke is occuring, the character designs are uninspired, and after the first two episodes we end in a generic fantasy city where the story bends over backwards to get him more women. If this all still sounds enticing to you, and you can ignore the plothole stuff, then I don't see why you shouldn't watch the show. But those are unforgivable to me and I cannot respect the show for what it is, since it is the bare minimum that it be comprehensible and not constantly irritate you with unintentionally retconning itself.

The worst thing about anime is that the animation is medium regular and so is the soundtrack. But everything else seems perfect to me, it is in the same season as Mushoku Tensei and I also feel that I stand out. As a unique isekai it has many unique characteristics, for example how they justify that this op seems very good to me after the development of characters and how they deal with each other it seems very cute. I highly recommend it if you like elos iseakis. The animation is very well achieved, the fights are kept trying to be as interesting as possible butwhen you have a protagonist op it gets complicated because every time he fights seriously, the fight is over. The SOUNDTRACK IS pretty good and the harem that the main character has is very diverse with many animals so if you like dogs and cats you will like the girls that appear.

First time ive decided to write a review because everyone obviously missed the point. TL;DR Its a great silly light hearted parody of the overmilked genre, people expecting it to be a serious isekai with lore missing the point lead to bad reviews. So to the actual review: The fruit of evolution is your generic isekai about a bullied student that gets isekaid with all his classmates to another world. Except only he teleported far far away from civilization. Our MC is optimistic, kind, OP and dense. The whole story is dumb but thats the beauty of it. Its a parody making fun of anime clichés and theoverall culture including basically everything you could ever expect and maybe even more. Anyone comparing it to arifureta has missed the whole point of the show. Youve got parodies like Konosuba with a deeper story and then u got parodies where the only purpose is the absurdity of it.

And thats Fruit of Evolution for you. Light hearted show that makes fun of every element of "isekai OP MC", it doesnt take itself seriously with plenty of your typical characters its making fun of oversexualized animes while not being actually "disturtbingly perverse" (im looking at you Redo of Healer). Sometimes breaking a 4th wall it will give you plenty of laughs while keeping you somehow interested with the story pacing.

While the animation is not so great its really not that bad either. I mean after Arifuretas 3D it takes a lot to hate on graphics Its not great but watchable.

Overall its a great parody of all the basic stories weve seen so if you are looking for an action filled fantasy harem parody you should definitely give it a go. Its not as good as Konosuba or Combatants will be dispatched! but its definitely worth the watch. If you are looking for your OP MC Isekai with a deeper story or even a complex world and lore this show is not for you and you will be one of the others that are in the reviews hating there.

I don´t understand why it is so underrated. The series just tries to make fun of its own genre and it is just funny. It´s not suposed to be anything else. For anyone who didn´t watch it, if you like konosuba this is probably good for you. There is no depth and the anime doesn´t take anything seriously. But it is fun to watch and for me that is more than enough. I watched a shitload of anime this year and this really one of the best anime that came out 2021. If you want to watch something serious this will not be anything you like.
