Reviews for Shachibato! President, It's Time for Battle!
Back to AnimeI dunno what to say about this personally. While the characters, some of them are cute. But that's pretty much it in some sense. I don't know, this show just feels generic, despite an interest premise. Cause running an adventures guild? That seems fun right? But so far from what it's presenting, it's kinda eh honestly. The art style really is colourful however. That and it's sound is pretty OK in my view. Nothing bad about either of those two things, but that's basically one of few good things about this show that don't make it sound out as if it's boring. The story follows the clubgetting a new pres, someone who is new, and we'll just have to see if he does well or not. Simple right? Not that is bad, it's just not executed in an fun and interesting way in my opinion. Which might be down to the bland characters that we have as leads. I could be wrong and something might happen that changes that, but for now, it's not looking good in my view.
There is interest in some of the cast members, due to their personalities, but again they also come off bland or not interesting due to the show's pacing sadly.
Hopefully it can get better, but for now, wouldn't push this past a 6 so far.
OH GOLLY GREAT...another smartphone game anime adaptation. Look Japan, I know these are quite popular over there, but if there is some heart in making one, please at least make a decent story/plot a.k.a Princess Connect (from the same season). What happens if you combine generic game characters and gave them overly boring, tropey and cliche personalities? A male protagonist (more like a support protag I suppose), the childhood friend (who's vying for some love), the ACTUAL support characters, and some very tropey enemies (that are always garnered to the good side), all these is what you get with the generic fantasy package. NGL, this formulais very rampant on 99% of smartphone anime adaptations, whilst the mobile games themselves are just "pick-and-choose/play" characters whilst following the usual plot to level up and such nonsense.
As far as the settings go, an adventurer's guild is most likely the "playing on safe ground" option, because it just showcases the main cast of characters on their merry ways, doing the things they love to do in their spare time a.k.a fighting to earn money, experience and whole lot of nuance. It's an action-adventure for God's sake, and thankfully not a whole lot of Slice-of-Life-ish. The plot however, give or take, just give it away, pretty please. With such bland characters, and I re-emphasize this again: how can you expect at least a decent story plot?
The only thing that draws me in is studio C2C's nice artwork and visuals, but that's more of an enticement that would've been too easy to fool you if not for the overarching plot, which isn't all that interesting to begin with. Same with the music, it's cutesy and peppy, but it absolutely does nothing for me to draw in what this mediocre adaptation to ireness.
This show is just too mind-numblingly boring for the most part, I'd suggest heavily to skip on this, you're not missing out on it much unless you've played the mobile game (which is a sad denomination). The marketing teams for games in Japan, please buck up your efforts.
To quote somebody the best: TL;DW; Its boring AF.
Kibou Company - The Hope Company Do you like your like boss at work? Do you have to work too much and getting paid too less? Luckily this is not the case in this company, they are the hope for all employees. We have a president (boss) who thinks of precautionary about his employees, a president that you really like. STORY: A new boss in a company always means various changes. But how do the employees feel about the new boss? That's the question every Shachou will ask himself. Our main character has the honor to take this place in a company because the old boss(his father) cannot be found. He quickly realizes that it is not easy to run a company. There are many things to watch out for. Above all, in the financially part, the Kibou Company is pretty badly positioned at the beginning. Nevertheless, our boss is a positive person, he is very nice to his employees and they also have fun working under his orders. Together they manage many different and dangerous dungeons, which are often stored with crystals, and those are associated with a lot of income. One day our little group wants to collect so much crystals that they have the opportunity to find the old boss again.
Their journey begins...
CHARACTERS:
In addition to the boss Minato, the employees naturally play a major role. Each of them has their own function in the company. In addition to a secretary, a fighter, a healer, we also have other important positions that are filled. At the beginning with only four employees [three women, one man] (plus boss), the company enriched itself with two more [cute girls]. The seven of them have a very good harmony and they can also master a lot. We also experience a little romance between our boss and his childhood friend Yutoria, who asked him to come as a boss, and she is also an employee of the company. Even if that part is certainly not the focus of the action, a little love is never wrong.
ART:
The most convincing part of all. It is a little strange that our two male people in the company also have long hair and could therefore go through as women, but the characters are still very well animated. It is a colorful anime that uses many colors from the bright area. The dark dungeons are also well represented. The most important thing is, of course, that the female characters are presented in a cute way and this is definitely the case here.
What is extremely cool to look at is the font that is used. It looks like an old font (you can still recognize the letters, of course), but here you notice that a lot of effort was given for this part.
SOUND:
The OP and ED are both solo songs from the seiyuu of the female characters Akari and Yutoria. They are not special, but they give a fitting impression of the anime. Both have sung OP and ED in other anime before and their voices are nice to hear. As in almost all anime, the OP is rather loud and happy, while the ED is a bit quieter and more relaxed. Other noices in the anime (such as battle swords during a fighting scene etc.) are present, but relatively average.
ENJOYMENT:
Even though the story is progressing very slow, this aspect didn't bother me. I had fun watching this anime. There is too little said about the characters in my opinion and you'd like to know more about them and the old boss, but I still like the characters. As already mentioned, I find the long hair of the two men a bit strange, but after a while you get used to it and don't mix it with the cute girls in the anime. In addition to these things, this anime shows us how a boss can get along well with his employees. Nobody should feel like the robots and monsters in this anime: only overtime, too much work, no overtime pay etc., everyone should feel like the employees in the Kibou Company: happy and satisfied.
I have already read many negative comments about this anime and I can only agree on many points. I never heard of the mobile game of this, so I only referred to the anime. Nevertheless, everyone should take a quick look at the first episode whether this anime suits them or not. In terms of type, it is somewhat similar to Konosuba, Priconne and something like that. Certainly not nearly as good, but you can relax quite well and experience a nice little company and its adventures!
Like the other review has pointed out, there isn't much to say about this anime. Its a generic fantasy adventure, but done incredibly badly. After 6 episodes I don't care for any of the characters, the story just seems to dripple on without any kind of excitement to be found, and its all just so incredibly bland. Its so boring, its so incredibly boring. The art style is cute, but we've seen it a million times before. And from my experience an anime with the same cutesy art style can be given hard plotlines and interesting characters that pull the audience in. This one...just doesn't. Evenif we put it into the category of slice of life, the characters and story do nothing to make you care about them. Everything is just so one dimensional.
If you're incredibly bored and want to see if the main rating is fair then go for it. Otherwise just don't waste your time. I honestly wish I hadn't picked this one up because of how long each episode drags on and how I have force myself to finish it every Sunday.
TLDL; Its boring af.

After reading a lot of negative reviews out there, I feel like I had to write this review, to actually gives some positive response for this anime. At first glance, sure, it does looks like your typical isekai anime. I also felt like the style of the anime kinda copy paste from other isekai anime out there. Sure, if I had to say, there are other isekai anime out there is better than this one. At the end of the day, people are free to express their opinion on this anime so this one's mine. Yes, sometimes, isekai anime setting is quite weird but that's whatmakes an isekai, what makes an isekai different. This series talks about Makoto takes over his dad's company becomes the president of Kibou company. At first I was skeptical, maybe this anime has a lot of actions? a lot of fantasy? a lot of adventure? but it doesn't do much. Yup, this anime doesn't do much if I had to say in a nutshell. The story is meh and at some point, predictable, the characters, are cute other than that I felt natural. Just your typical president-employee kind of relationship except it's anime. It would be really great if Minato and Yutoria actually starts to see each other as love interests or Akari actually starts to fall in love with Minato, or better yet, maybe we get to know whether Raiba actually has feelings for Akari or not. Why Valmi has the same vibe as Guide tho? I kinda felt like they might be sisters? Maybe. This anime, has a lot of story potential but they limit it to just that, a president-employee relationship, competing with other companies for more "kirakuri". Heck, Servant x Service did a better job at that.
Since this anime "doesn't do much", it kinda felt like this anime lacks the plot, lacks the story and lacks action (being it in isekai) but still, that's what makes this anime good for me. Maybe a lot of reviews I've read actually trying to search for something worth to watch and fail to find one in this anime, because this anime is better watching if you don't take it too seriously. Yes, this anime if you don't take it too seriously, that's the charm. This anime is just perfect if you want to sit back on your couch, hit a random anime to watch, lose your stress and enjoying your night resting. I'm that one guy that actually enjoys anime like this, anime that you know, sit back and grab a snack and laugh along. Because at some point, you do need a rest from plot-twist, high suspense drama, hardcore action and anything related to those kinds of anime.
The anime is just a marketing for their game. But hey, they got fake miku, trap president and childhood friends jumble up together! So why not continue watching The monsters are easily defeated, every challenge is completed in one or two episode, the anime already touched an aspect that you need monii to win early on So expect a lot of gacha in the game if you plan to try it after watching this anime. What's next.... they got mysterious cool dad who went missingThat is all i guess
not even a rom com trash like me is interested with the character love interest
Honestly, I think this show was alright. It's a fairly light-hearted adventure/slice of life about an adventuring company. The story is fairly standard, there's a bit of a mystery with the MC's father and his own personal background. MC takes over his father's company as president and helps them stay afloat. Nothing out of this world, but nothing bad. Characters aren't particularly well-developed, but they serve the story fine and are varied. The show has some commentary on work culture and what it means to be a good employer. It's not saying a ton about it, but it manages to keep it a theme throughout the showin a reasonable way.
Art and Sound is all serviceable. The show it nice and colorful and has some interesting designs for monsters and world elements.
In the end of the day, I'd say it's perfectly watchable if a bit unmemorable. It's not an action-packed show with biting social commentary. It does what it does and it works fine. You could certainly do a lot worse.
Absolutely recommended. The anime is what I wish more anime were. A group of people, (most of which are girls), and the MC as their leader, in a fantasy world setting, going and conquering dungeons to gather a valuable resource. I feel the anime is a solid 9/10. The combat animations could have been better, but the anime is still a 9/10. It lacked romance, but I still enjoyed it. Watched it within 3 days in total. Every episode was interesting, and there weren't any unnecessary scenes like bath episodes or beach episodes. No giant breasts, and had a lot of cute girls. Valmi, and allof the girls in Kibou Company are very cute. The world even has its own alphabet. I need to re-watch the anime and decypher the texts.
I don't understand why people have rated it so low, when it should've been well over a 7,5/10 in total rating. It needs a second season because it's more interesting than most other anime out there. The world being fantasy, but having machines, power, and modern-ish technology due to the Kirakuri, makes it very interesting. I had no idea it's an adaptation of a video game. I wish I could play it.
Amazing anime. If it had romance, it would've been a 10/10.
