Reviews for Caramel Honey
Back to AnimeIt was very cute, but it also had a lot of clichés that I have seen before. I really liked the art style that they went with, it felt like watching a comic book, and it was something unique that I had not seen before. I just wish it had more time to get to know the main duo. The episodes are usually only 1-2 minutes long, so we don't really have time to get into longer backstories like most anime out there. Overall I enjoyed it, and would recommend if you're just looking for a little fluff to fill an hour.
I couldn't find any English subtitles for the anime, so I decided to read the manga first so I can still understand what the characters are saying while watching. Anyways, this anime is not animated like other animes out there. It's like in a motion comic format and the orientation of the videos are in portrait because it's meant to be watched on the phone. I enjoyed the manga for its character designs, so I was really hoping to see it fully animated. But oh well, the experience while watching this is similar to my experiences in listening to drama cds with english subs onYoutube. And I don't mind that at all. The only difference in this from drama cds is that the art I'm looking at is slightly moving.
The story is simple, but its perfect for its short length. There may be 30 episodes, but each one is only about 1-2 minutes long.
Anime was pretty much exactly like the manga and it doesn't really add much, up to you whether that's a good or bad thing. Very easy to rewatch when I'm craving some cute bl since it's so short at like a minute per episode. Simple and cute, so it's hard to criticize other than the lack of animation. Speaking on the lack of animation, I do definitely wish there was more motion, but it's still enjoyable. Overall not bad, but it's better to just read the manga for the first time. Oh and, this should be a given, but don't watch it if you don't likeboy's love.
This is so cute and I love the difference in art/animation style, as well as episode length to a typical anime series. Story 5/10 It's pretty cliché, but not bad. Art 9/10 I really like the art/animation style. It's simple, but effective.Sound 9/10
The voice acting is good and the sound effects added in help enhance the episodes.
Character 6/10
The characters are ok, pretty standard really. There isn't much time for any real character development.
Enjoyment 10/10
I thoroughly enjoyed the series. It's nothing ground breaking, but if you have a spare 30 minutes or so, it's a great little series to go through, especially if you have a soft spot for BL.
Overall I give it an 8/10. There are english sub versions available, so it shouldn't be too difficult for people to find/watch now. To sum up the whole series: short but sweet.
It's an okay anime if you want something quick to watch; however, if you want something that you really want to enjoy over a period of time, I wouldn't recommend this. The storyline moves along too quickly to get into it. Also, the episodes are way too short, with them only being 1 minute each. I would've liked to learn more about the MCs rather than just watch a simple clichéd love story. The formatting was quite unusual as well. It seemed more like a manga with a voice-over rather than an actual anime. Overall, personally, I wouldn't rewatch it, but it was okay.
To be honest it's not a bad story BUT it is hardly animated, more like a color manga... so maybe it is better to read the manga directly? Anyways it's 30 chapters but 1 minute each, so if you have half an hour as i said the story is cute, but nothing out of the ordinary just 2 punks hotties with an "Im going to kill you face". Also there are two stories and second was muuuuuuuuch better. Music it is good and one thing i would like to point is the voice actors, didn't expect to be so good as it is.
THATS IT???? ITS OVER??????? IT WAS SO GOOD. Despite it being a really quick watch with an odd animation style, it was still very enjoyable! I am a little bit sad about how fast paced it was, and how the episode length were really short(30s-2m). But if you're looking for a quick watch, I would suggest this! It was also in a portrait style, which makes me think it wasn't exactly animation, moreso tweening of the manga panels? In my opinion, it's very hit or miss if others would enjoy it the way I did. The characters were surprisingly well developed for how short itis. Which isn't much development, but still surprising! I really enjoyed the "your soulmate will be the only one to love you with or without your glasses on", It made their relationship all the nicer. I do wish that the main characters were more developed than the side characters? I forgot their names, but the ml's brother and his boyfriend seem way more developed than the mc and the ml. We didn't see too much about how the ml reacted to his parents divorce, or his brothers violent outbursts, nor did we learn why the mc left his previous school. Us as the audience could guess it was due to his ability and bullying, but that's never confirmed. And We don't even know what his parents look like, besides his mother in flashbacks he has. She kinda looks like Rize from Tokyo Ghoul, but that's all we really know about her.
