Reviews for Mob Psycho Mini
Back to AnimeSuch empty, I mean the review section, I figured I might as well do the first step, there isn't much to really talk about here, but let's fill the void okay? - Story (6/10): The story, if there is any, to begin with, was just all over the place, this isn't story center per se, the whole series is just a compilation of comedic shorts filling up the holes between the original series's episodes, trying to make more sense of the plot's point, in a humorous way of course. - Art (8/10): As big of a pixel art fan as I am, I found this aesthetically pleasing to wonderat, like seriously, it felt like a gameplay from some retro pixel art game, and I absolutely loved it, surprisingly enough, It really built very well with the nature of the show.
- Sound (7/10):
Other than the on-point voice acting, nothing there is to catch your attention, there is that faint retro 8-bit soundtrack on the background, which makes it feel more like a retro 80' game.
- Character (7/10):
I'm glad I had to see almost all of the main characters show on the original series as cute pixel sprites, all of them, the serious and the vicious look very cute and appealing to have key decorations (is that weird to say?).
- Enjoyment (6/10):
I would be honest on this one, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, I did have a couple of giggles here and there, but that was too minimalistic for my liking.
- Overall (6.8/10):
I don't see myself recommending this a lot unless somebody was nagging for more Mob Psycho 100 content, I would be happy to throw this show on them.
While the pixel animation is a nice touch, this mini series doesn't add much to someone looking for more of what they found in the original series. It was refreshing to see something a little different, but the novelty factor quickly ran out as the mini series progressed. Each episode has a few short stories. Despite this, the pacing seemed incredibly slow and much of the comedy didn't really land that well. This being said, it was pleasant to see more of each of the characters, and some time is dedicated to most of the characters seen in series one. If you're looking for a quickwatch and you were a fan of Mob Psycho, you might as well give this a watch, but don't expect anything particularly special.
Nothing good to watch this mini. Since i came here while i got some motion from my friend, i wish i had more fun with Mob and his crews. But i got it all wrong. It seem very empty comparing how good its parent story was. In my 10 scales, i put all of my initial effort into 4 on this, not get better at any rate. What is the strength from this little show? Nothing. And i keep telling myself that just some time wasted to watch this. However, as my respect to One Sensei, i still keep watching this until its end, and givemy point at 5, got 1 plus for that reasonal. Thats all.
5/10 ~ humorous enough, but skippable These are 6 episodes containing 3 parts each (A,B,C) totaling 18 little episodes that are all bit/chibi art. This is entirely all little joke skits but it technically is all new content. Some of the better ones that actually add some detail to the plot but were also enjoyable were: 2B, 4C Overall most people will not watch these as they are pretty obscure as they were Specials bundled with the Blu-ray volumes. However someone uploaded them on youtube and they are still viewable as of the end 1/22/25. But honestly dont feel like you need to go out of yourway to watch these unless you CRAVE the MOB lol
Mob Psycho Mini is the typical chibi short series that many anime get mainly as blue-ray DVD specials. It consists of six episodes going on average from four minutes to eight minutes per episode. This short series made a nice and original touch of having pixel art instead of the standard chibi format but the fact that the episodes only play in about 40% of the screen instead of using the full screen is really annoying and distracting in my opinion which obviously detracts from the overall enjoyment of the series. Art: As I already ranted about in the intro thy had a poor usage ofthe screen but had a brilliant idea with the pixel art, my only complaint in relation to the pixel art is the fact that I didn't even remember some of the less important characters and the pixel art made it quite difficult to figure out who actually they were (but this might very well be a problem only I had).
Sound: with such a short series this part doesn't have much for me to go on about, however besides the on-point voice acting already shown throughout the main series the retro music playing in the background was really great and a nice touch to the pixel art.
Plot: This short series doesn't really have anything to do with the main series it is simply a bunch of unrelated random short comedy stories with the cast of the main series.
Overall: You don't really have to watch this to have completed all of Mob Psycho and I don't think anyone can genuinely say they absolutely enjoyed this series but it is a very short watch that you can literally complete in under an hour and you don't really have to think much in relation to the plot or what's going on so it is a nice watch if you just want a short anime to turn your brain off to and have a couple giggles.
Mob psycho mini is pretty much what it sounds like, short episodes of mob psycho focusing on more humorous and relaxed aspects of the characters' lives. -Story/plot 6/10- There's little to no plot, each episode is around 7 or so minutes long, there isn't much room for plot. This was meant to be a more light-hearted version of MP we all know (and love) -Art/Animation 7/10- We can see an 8-bit style that's being used rather than actual animation. I like how it's treated like a game rather than an anime -Sound 10/10- Nothing much to say, nice voice acting. There's no OP or ending-Characters 10/10-
Once again. since these are a bunch of plot-less shorts we are not introduced to any new characters but we gain insight to side character's lives a little
-Personal enjoyment 8/10-
I sadly found it a little hard to fully enjoy this because of the artstyle (as much as I love rpg horror games), besides this I giggled quite a lot so it gets a good rating
-Overall 7/10-
Since we all have to wait a whole week for a new MP S3 episode it's a good idea to spare some time to watch these shorts
Mob Psycho Mini is a special consisting of six short episodes, each with three comedy skits animated using pixel art. The comedy skits are quite good as far as short comedy skits go. They are about events and characters from the main anime and they explore these characters and events from a different angle which means the skits actually add something to the anime. The characters are characters from the main anime but there are quite a lot of skits about the side-characters instead of the most important characters in the story which is nice. The animation is pixel art and looked quite neat. I'dargue it's better than the chibi animations that are often used for these kinds of specials. The problem with the pixel art however is that oftentimes there isn't a lot happening on screen aside from a few pixels moving and some scenes aren't too clear. The voice acting was the same as in the main anime.
Overall I'd say this is worth watching if you really really like mob psycho 100 and its characters since the skits do add a tiny bit to the story/characters. However, this tiny bit isn't enough to justify watching it if you just enjoyed the main anime but didn't care *that* much about the characters.
