Reviews for Bloody Code

After seeing the first four episodes of this Chinese CG anime, I can say that this is, without a doubt, the Magnus opus of mediocrity. The anime looks like a poor man's Final Fantasy, the story has potential but the way that it is executed is disappointing, and the characters are so bland that even a piece of paper is more interesting. Story 4/10 The anime is about a normal office worker by the name of Li Mingyang. But because of a QR code, he is trapped in a city in another world. In this city, everyone is forced to participate in a battle royal, that isgoing to kill or be killed.

As I've said the story sounds promising, but the way that it's executed is just disappointing. The pacing is weird, there are many useless fight scenes, and there's no real objective to achieve than that; I want to escape!

Art 4/10

As I've already said that the animation looks like a poor man's Final Fantasy. The movement of the characters looked so awkward at times and it was really painful to watch. The character designs are also pretty shitty and all look the same. And don't get me started about that background animation, it looks like a more realistic Overwatch background but than ugly.

Sound 5/10

The soundtrack mostly contains mediocre and forgettable music and sometimes the music was sometimes way more prominent than the sound effects and the voices. The OP and the ED are decent but not that memorable.

Character 4/10

The characters were really bad. There wasn't any character development and all the characters were bland. We have the basic helpless protagonist, the basic overpowered chick, and the basic tough guy antagonist. I have seen all these sorts of characters before but they were all better than this shitty main-cast. Like Tokyo Ghoul has all these characters but they are way better executed and way more in depth.

I didn't really enjoy this Chinese anime, because it was a really boring experience. It was painful to watch at times and I cringed almost with every line.
