Reviews for Dynamic Chord
Back to AnimeSo this review will be rather short... I think the one thing I can say about this anime was that if it had better animation the show would of been much more successful. Not perfect but maybe enough to get into at least the '6' range. Even as a person who doesn't really take animation into account when scoring series, this shows animation quality was just too bad to ignore. As for the story, it was a messy.. I don't think there is another way to explain it. However, if it makes you feel any better the show does somewhat manage to come full circle in the end.Somewhat.
My favorite thing about this series and probably the only thing that kept me from dropping this series was the music. The soundtrack is surprisingly decent and dare I say enjoyable.
However, this is nothing memorable and I'll probably forget about it completely in a few months or weeks.
Take that as you will.
Have a nice day everyone~
Only four episodes of Dynamic Chord are out at this time, but I can already tell how dreadful it will be. Barring a few other titles like Black Clover, this is one of the worst anime I’ve seen this season, and that’s saying a lot. When the best part of your anime is a cat with sunglasses (was only on screen for about 5 seconds in the first episode), you know you’ve fucked up somewhere. I won’t make this too long since this show honestly isn’t worth talking about in length. So…this show is about music, right? Then why is almost all of the runtime spenton something that’s not music? Moreover, when they’re actually playing music, not only is it extremely lazily done, but it also doesn’t even sound good. So far, every time they’ve played music, it’s just a compilation of reused shots and sloppy animation with some random Japanese song in the background.
I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with this show if it at least looked good, but it even fails in that department. The character designs are really jarring and hard to look at, which is disappointing since otherwise the art isn’t too shabby. I just wish it was used in a better way.
If you want to watch a music anime, watch something like K-on or Nana instead. This show is just a waste of time, and extremely boring at that.
M'kay let's see if I can do this justice in a review. Now this series doesn't have a straight-forward plot which a lot of people are looking for in Idol series. It literally follows the agency more closely than the idol group. There are four separate groups so each one gets featured separately and they blend together a bit. But it's unique the way it goes about it. The music and the character development is what redeem the series; and if you can get past not having a A-Z storyline you'll enjoy it. The mascot is great, but not all this series has to offer, it's afun roller coaster of boy-band drama, success and failures. (If you can make it to the end you'll see it come full-circle)
Story : 2 The first story is about finding their friend who suddenly leave the band .Common plot where you can see anywhere in anime .There are many emotional scene than happy one It becomy gloomy with their friend gone . which make you question if the anime really focus on music or just want theme to be friendship related . Art : 1 This animation can rival with Toei .The characters was drawn handsomely and see all the colourful hair ,as expected of Musical anime .The problem here lean on the focus of each screen .We just see their face front part and it just one angle.Plus the slow paced on each panel ,they focus too long on unmoving drawing
Character : 2
This anime was targetted for people who already played the game and have besice on it .So as for beginner ,it was hard to judge their personality .They introduced us all the members in hope that viewer already learn it from game .You don't have time to know the characters at all
Overall ,It depend if you just want something to accompany you while bored then this become good but don't set the expectation too high
I wanted to see what was the worst anime on MyAnimeList, and it look like it's this one Firstly, for the type, it's not something i'd watch in my usual times, also, this anime is boring and slow, like i was forced to watch it by multiplying the speed. For the characters, well they're flat and they're look alike, the only thing who can let you know who they are is their hair. While we're talking about graphism, it's ok, if we avoid the fact that when they sing they reuse the bad animations during all the anime. Songs are ok, even if it's not whati'd listen, and even if the singer of the main band is bad. At least the sotry have something i like, it's divided in 4 parts which is like a small story, unfortunately they do always the same 3 elements, and i also didn't understand the 3rd part of the anime. I'll conclude by talking about the characters one last time by saying that there's too much chars, so it's hard to memorize their name, except for the cat who is the best hero of this anime
This is without a doubt the worst fucking thing I've ever seen. The entire first episode was devoid of any meaningful content and it had the worst art direction and shot composition in the history of this medium. The character designs are the only thing that could even be considered a 2/10 because they at least look generic but even then the main replacement singer is the worst looking character in a show where he is the only plot point if you could even consider calling it that. The harsh sound design was appalling for a musical show. For a show called dynamic chord I definitely wished theshow had any music or shots worth calling dynamic
I don't think I could ever even ironically watch this again to make fun of it
If anything ever kills this medium it will be from the aftereffects of this show and I hope that the director is blacklisted from the industry and exiled from japan.
Before I get into my thoughts on the show I want to clarify that I did not watch it the way it was aired but a cut down version on NND I'll explain at the end of my review and hopefully justify the high enjoyment score (If you want to skip to that it will be in the second paragraph). Dynamic Chord is an awful show. There really isn't much to be said that someone else has not already covered but for the sake of this review I'll cover some of the key issues I found in each of the categories. The story often makesno sense and weird cuts leave the viewer wondering what is happening. When they do know what's going on, it's completely dull and boring. The art is full of awkward animations, shots that feel out of place, and characters who look bland and uninteresting. The sound is riddled with hilariously awkward dramatic pianos, poor mixing, and one scene that noticeably jumped from quiet to an obnoxiously loud and out of place rock song. Every single character in this show is flat and unintersting, which is not helped by the fact that most of the dialogue can be best compared to something out of Tommy Wiseau's The Room. But that all works together to make it an absolutely hilarious experience.
For those unaware, NicoNico is a Japanese streaming site similar to YouTube but with the noticeable difference being that comments scroll across the screen as you watch. I watched a cut down version of Dynamic Chord on NND which removed some of the filler points of each episode and sped up the ridiculously long recounts (for hilarious effect). What the unique comment features of NND allowed was an experience a lot like Rocky Horror with viewers comments poking fun at the ridiculous points of the show. I spent most of the time laughing out loud at the commenters who gave nicknames to each character, spun their own alternate storylines, and made jokes at the shows expense. If there is any way to watch this show and actually enjoy it, it has to be on NND. I wouldn't dream of recommending this show to people who only speak English, but if you know Japanese you owe it to yourself to give this a shot. I can't bring myself to give Dynamic Chord higher than a 2, the show itself rightfully sits at the bottom of MyAnimeList for being easily the worst made anime I have ever seen. But, with that being said, I can't give it a 1 either because of just how much fun I had watching it.
Enjoyment and Overall: This anime is so bad and downright horrendous... That it's actually kind of funny when you think about it. Plus... The songs aren't so bad, it's forgettable but not really bad. And well, this is the worst idol anime ever. So bad though, that it's very funny. Characters and Art: As someone who loves A3, which also seems to have the same artist as this, the character designs are so trying hard to be unique, when it all falls down flat because there aren't any personalities represented visually with their looks. I love A3, but when you look at the characters there, you would know them right away what they are, and sometimes even surpass your expectations of them, even to feel a connection towards them. But in this, it's so darn bad that I don't think I feel anything for these characters, nor even know who they are. They're all so forgettable. They like, introduce all these characters without even saying anything, and expect us to feel for them.
Story: There are also many animation errors, and the story is so bad. It's like they just asked someone from the streets to animate for them, and the story is just some random convoluted ideas without any substance. Like who the heck is this Yorito guy? Why should I care about him? Why is the main cast feeling sorry, or sad? So many questions, yet they don't even present them well.
Sound: The songs are pretty good ngl. Kind of forgettable but not really that bad. But if you're interested in a rock song-oriented anime, just watch Show by Rock or something.
