"Th-This is my first review on MyAnimeList, s-so please be gentle..!" This review contains minor spoilers of the three previous seasons. Read at your own risk to avoid getting spoiled. Ah, Highschool DxD. The classical story of boobs, butts, and an actually decent plot. Not one of the first, but definitely one of the best. Yes, just like the previous installments in this series, if you don't like uncensored breasts and excessive fanservice, please go watch something else because this is without a doubt, not for you. Story: 7 The story in this one is simple, but not terrible in the slightest. It reintroduces a character who have neverbeen seen since season one, Riser Phenex. If you remember, Riser was the main antagonist of Season 1, who wanted to marry Rias, but was stopped by Issei. Now Riser's personality has completely changed, from being a badass villain to a man who's scared of even his own shadw. His younger sister Ravel wants help from the Occult Research Club to revert him back to his old self again because she can't stand him looking like this anymore.

Art and Sound: 9

The art is the same since season one. The characters are drawn quite well as they usually are, getting special focus on.. ahem.. That place. It's the same as all of the other seasons of High School DxD, so expect nothing different here. The sound is also quite good. The voice acting, sounds of fire, and other sounds were fun to listen to. The OP and ED were both great as well.

Characters: 9

This is where this episode and the whole anime really stands out: The characters. They're the same as before, albeit one. Riser is completely different, but that doesn't make him worse. His level of cowardliness compared to his previous badassery really makes me laugh when I think of him in the past.

Enjoyment: 10

Let's face it. I'm a pervert. I mostly enjoyed it from the sheer amount of fansservice it had.

Overall: 9

This OVA was really fun to watch, letting you know that Riser isn't just a regular antagonistic character who only mattered for season 1. It was also nothing short of High School DxD's usual amount of fanservice, which gets a plus from me. The characters are very funny and can be serious when they want to. (Which is mostly Issei, albeit mostly about Rias's breasts, which just adds to the comedy factor.) I enjoyed this episode and will most likely enjoy all episodes after this one.

Haha! This was a GREAT ride! Well done! A DxD OVA with actual story!! This OVA is an animated adaptation of a Light-Novel Side story and it is 100% CANON. Now, onto the review! I'm also rating this in relation to other OVAs of the same genre. Story: 10 - THERE'S ACTUALLY STORY (MAL: Outstanding) YES! THERE IS ACTUALLY STORRRY!! AN ACTUAL TANGIBLE STORY THAT HAS LITTLE TO NOTHING TO DO ABOUT BOOBS! HOLY CRAP!! YES!!! That is my first reaction upon watching this. It adapts the Light Novel side-story very well. We are missing another half to this story, but the part where the episode ends is perfect. It's well paced, funny and a good watch. Compared to other OVAs of course. Even then, this would be about a 7 or an 8 if I were to compare it to actual series' ratings since we do have a tangible story.

Art: 8 - DxD Standard (MAL: Very Good)

The animation is the DxD Standard though I did get ticked off at how the frame rate sometimes drops. It usually runs at 15-20FPS and this is starting to sound like a gaming review.

The animation is standard when comparing to the anime. It's not as fluid as I would have liked it to be which is disappointing. The background drops are great though, as expected of DxD. We also get some variation in character clothing...for only Issei, Riser and his sister Ravel.

Sound: 10 DxD Standard (MAL: Outstanding)

Not many comments. It's good. Good voice acting, good sound effects, good music, etc. I don't have any complaints and I shouldn't have any. DxD usually aces this topic.

Character: 10 OMFG CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT??? (MAL: Outstanding)

Yes! We get character development! It also destroys Riser's/Raiser's character and rebuilds it which I had somewhat of a problem with even in the Light Novel. We get to see Riser and Ravel grow as characters and Issei is...well he's Issei. We get to see how insightful he can be if he really wants to be. It is surprising when you compare this Issei to DxD Main-Story Issei. This one is actually..."nicer".

Enjoyment: 10 Season 4 when? (MAL: Outstanding)

I really liked this, as seen in my ratings. I may be a little biased but I really did enjoy this. Now, surprisingly, there is ONE thing this does better than ALL THE DXD Seasons: IT DOESN'T SHOVE FAN SERVICE INTO YOUR FACE EVERY 5 SECONDS! HOLY SHIT WE DON'T SEE BOOBS EVERY 5 SECONDS! We still do see Issei monologue about them, but that happens several times and even then it's not in your face and obnoxious as it usually is. Most of the time, we usually see them interact and see one... "DxD" Fight Scene. Overall, I really enjoyed this OVA. It is much better than all the other "plot" OVAs that DxD usually sells us.

Overall: 10 SEASON 4 WHENNN? (MAL: Outstanding)

Suffice to say, this is one of the best DxD animations and OVAs to date. It's not nearly as obnoxious as it is in the anime and it has plenty of character development, enjoyable character interaction and a decent fight scene. Overall, it's very good and I really just want another season, please just give me another season.

Thanks,

Finally, a good Highschool DxD OVA, High School DxD BorN: Yomigaeranai Fushichou is in a sense the 13th episode of the 3rd season, making it a deserving sequel, probably the best OVA in the franchise, let's find out why... - Story (7.0/10): For once, a solid one-shot story, one very deserving to its standalone release. Bundled with the limited edition of High School DxD DX.2. It tells the story of Issei helping out Phenex, a past villain into getting over his fear of dragons. With the help of Tannin, they go on a journey to the mountains with Ravel accompanying them. - Art (7.0/10): Not the proudest production inthe franchise but still watchable. The weather particles blend nicely with the night sky backgrounds. The animation, for the most part, was decent and not distracting at all.

- Sound (8.0/10):

Again, props the production team for reusing the old great soundtrack, also leaving out the opening and ending theme songs was just what I wanted, great songs by the way.

The voice acting was okay, and ridiculous too how the can keep screaming perverted non-sense at either other, while probably maintaining a straight face, glorious.

- Character (8.0/10):

I put a score as high as I can without having to break my unbiased reviewing this, we get to see the return of a probably one of the mùost hated characters in the series, Phenex from the first season who challenged Rias to a rating game to decide whether they get married or not.

This time around, we got to see a side of Phenex we never had the pleasure to see, really cool and funny guy, dependable and powerful as well, and oddly enough, sharing the same affection as our protagonist. If anything, he could make for a great big brother to Issei.

- Enjoyment (7.5/10):

Quite a fun watch, I never thought I would like Phenex, I never bothered with him from the get-go, he was just another character that was destined to fade away, but not really, he proved to be a solid well-written character that has more to offer in the future.

- Overall (7.5/10):

I would definitely recommend this over other OVAs and specials for what it offers of comedy and character development for Phenex. and before you ask, yes, there's immense fanservice as well, so warm up your seat and start the episode.
