Reviews for Recorder and Randsell
Back to AnimeOne episode in, and I can tell this is going to be an anime I will rush to watch. The episodes are extremely short but pack in so much humour that you'll wish there was much more. The story rotates around a young boy Atsushi aged 11, and his sister Atsumi aged 17. Due to the height and appearance of each, it would be easy to mistake the boy for the older adult which leads to very humorous situations. Simple everyday scenarios become impossible for Atsushi as even walking together with friends to school becomes, lets say difficult. Honestly if you have three minutes, I seriously recommend watching.I know I'm very glad I did.
10/10
I don't know about the other reviews, but I don't find this funny. Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is funny, Mitsudomoe is funny, Nichijou is funny, Kimi to boku is funny, 4 Koma Kill Me Baby is funny, but this is not funny. The story is about a elementary schooler who looks like a full grown adult and his older sister who looks like a little girl who goes to high school. This is a stroke of genius ladies and gentlemen(?) The jokes aren't that well written and I have a feeling this anime is going to pull every molester joke in the book, I highly doubt it'll bringanything new to the table.
Then again there are always people seeing this type of humor for the first time and I don't blame them for laughing out loud. But looking through reactions,it's actually blowing my mind that people are finding this funny.
Either this guy has been left back 10 years, or he's in special education. I wonder if he still gets to go to the bath with his younger sister (Whoops, see how it's already fucking me up?), I mean older sister considering his age. It makes me sick just thinking about it.
If it isn't trying to pull off jokes it continues to drag on with the everyday lives of these two siblings. I remember this one scene where the older sister stands in front of the school vending machine for about a minute or so talking about how milk is going to make her taller.
Yawn...
It'd be really funny if it turns out he wasn't 11 years old and retarded after all and it was just some elaborate cover for... something I don't know. Just try and make me laugh.
The guy would be like: "I am your father."
The girl would be like: "Whut?"
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
But in all seriousness...

Overall this anime just gives me that uncomfortable feeling as it tries feebly to break my poker face. Thank goodness it's three minutes...
That's another thing... They really have to stop doing these three minute long shorts. They're not revolutionizing the field of anime story telling and definitely not contributing. It's a waste of time and resources, by resources I mean money, electricity, and the oxygen the people who make this consume.
Give the same pen, ink, and computer to people who really want to do something and you'll have something infinitely better than this anime.
This is proof that people can't think of something better to make an anime about... No effort at all.
No matter how short an anime is, I'd rather take the time slowly eating a whole delicious pizza and risk rupturing my stomach than take a teaspoon of defecation. Time flies then I watch good anime, time slows when I watch this...
I honestly like the concept of an elementary school student who looks like a high school student while his sister looks like an elementary school student. The first few episodes were cute, but then it started becoming cliché. I also don't understand how the adults could be so stupid. They notice Atsushi when he interacts with his young female friend but fail to notice that he takes the same route with him? No one tells anyone that he is a big boy? Despite having interesting art and sound, it fell short towards the end. On the plus side, it is a quick watch. Thus whyI am having such a short review this time around.
I'm...I'm just so shocked that people are giving this a 10. This definitely doesn't deserve a 10. Everyone's dishing out perfect scores way too easily. I'm not going to lie, I was intrigued by the concept. At first I thought this series was a romcom or something, but when I realized it was about a brother and sister, I thought I was in for some cute, feel-good anime candy. That's not quite what I got. Don't get me wrong, there's some likable stuff here. Both Atsuhi and Atsumi are likable characters who act their age, and I've got to give props to Atsuhi's voice actor for beingable to perform so well. When the show really wants to try, it'll deliver just what you'd expect. Nothing spectacular, but something kind of cute and quirky if you're into this kind of thing.
But then there are the pedophile jokes. Literally every other episode has Atsuhi getting arrested because he's mistaken for a pedophile. You'd think that his parents would take the time to explain things better. You'd think that after the millionth time people would recognize him and leave him alone. Comedic misunderstandings don't work by their very nature since the joke is literally making a character you're supposed to like suffer for something they didn't do, and it's even worse when it's happening to a 10 year old boy. I remember one scene where he comes home and curls up in a corner crying because he's so upset. How do people find this funny? It was extremely unpleasant for me.
Fortunately as the show goes along they slowly start laying off that gag, but its presence is still extremely painful. Like a parasite feeding off of what could otherwise be a perfectly decent, cute little show.
If that doesn't bother you, by all means give it a watch. Otherwise I say skip it.
AHHAHA. This anime is so hilarious. Its mainly about a boy who is 11 years old, he is super tall for his age, roughly around 180 centimeters, and his voice is SO deep as if he hit puberty. He also has a sister who's only 137 centimeters tall and is only 17 years old, which makes the anime funny. Sad thing though about the anime is that the boy still acts like a little kid, which adults may mistakenly take him as an adult man who is a pedophile toward kids. Very warm humorous anime.
This is honestly just one big child molestation joke. But seriously, joke repetition is sometimes funny, but they really rely on that one particular joke here way too much. The shtick that he looks like an adult quickly runs its course, and after a few episodes it just becomes stale and a bit disturbing. Art is mediocre at best and the sound effects are just plain and random, I swear I heard some of them in bad Youtube videos. Also, character voice work is inconsistent and sometimes jarring to listen to. Overall, the only saving grace here is that it is a short anime and youdon't have to spend a lot of time to finish it.
Recorder to Randoseru is another addition to what i would call the '3-minute cheap thrill' anime. The concept of this anime is ridiculous but nevertheless draws curiosity. I enjoyed this anime and i am sure it is commonly felt by all viewers. THAT is also main draw back for this anime. Those who love this anime would hate it for it length and i would get to that later. Firstly, the story is unique. A tall and amature 11 years old who has a short and mature 17 years old sister getting into troubles. But thats about it for the first episode and i believe mostof the future episodes because it is a 3-minute anime. The bad thing of a 3-minute anime is the difficulty to tell story but the good thing about it is that it can deliver the punchline and keep viewers interested in the series.
The art and sound are decent, reminding me alot of morita-san. In fact, they made a cameo in the first episode. As mentioned before, the characters are unique but the tall 11 years old boy sort of freaks me out a bit but i think i would get used to it. The humour are enjoyable and it is a relaxing anime to watch. I would recommend it for short breaks in between work to relieve some stress. And of course overall, i find it a decent anime and be sure to catch it if you like such anime.
HAHAHAHAHAAH LOL !!!!!! Recorder to Randoseru is about Miyagawa Atsushi is an 11-year-old boy!!!!??? HAHAHA. He is 180 centimeters tall and in 5th grade practicing his recorder. Since he has an adult appearance, this always gets him into trouble. His older sister!!!?? Atsumi is 17-year-old. She is 137 centimeters tall. Her appearance is a child like but she is more mature than you think. She takes care of Atsushi. OMG this anime cracks me up. Even though it short I can rewatch them again. Can't wait for more episodes. 10/10
Nothing much to write in here tbh. The anime overall seems pretty interesting and promising, the sad part is that each episode itself is only around 2 minutes long. What the heck are we supposed to see in only 2 minutes of anime???? /facepalm I guess it's worth taking a look if you have nothing better to do. Everything else in the anime is pretty decent/good, if only the episodes were longer it would get a higher score from me.
wow HALARIOUS!!! this series looks promising ^^ ,as the frst episode is only out i alredy can't wait for the next one, well it didnt realy make sence untill i read the discription on MAL but serisoly its funny anyway, its worth the 3 minutes to at least check it out :),so pealse GIVE THIS NEW ANIME A TRY ITS ONLY 3 MIN LONG,and it made me actualy laugh out loud
Story: Recorder to Randoseru Do♪ is the first installment of the Recorder to Randoseru series. It follows a young fifth-grade boy named Atsushi Miyagawa. He looks like a full grown man, being 180cm (About 5'10") tall! And then there is his "big" sister, Atsumi Miyagawa, who is 137cm (About 4'5") tall. However, Atsushi acts his true age. 8/10 Art: The art of Recorder to Randoseru Do♪ completely relates to the characters' heights. Since Atsushi looks like an adult, they turned him into a bishounen looking character, who acts his true age. Atsumi looks like a kid, so they turned her into a moe, loli, childish looking character, who acts her true age.

Sound
OST - There isn't really much of an OST in this anime, so I'll leave this blank.
Opening - There is no opening, so I'll leave this blank.
Ending - It was a quite fun song to listen to, but not a song I would want to have on my MP3 player.
Voice Acting - When I first found Recorder to Randoseru Do♪, I thought Atsushi was going to sound his true age. You know what? NOPE! We are going to make him sound like a full grown man! And let's make Atsumi sound like a little kid! The voice acting gave me lots of laughs when seeing them get into trouble.
9/10
Character: Were you ever an elementary school kid who was younger than they looked? You might relate to Atsushi. He's a young boy who looks like a grown man. People often mistook him for a grown man when he truly isn't. Are you a high school teenager who is older than you look? You might relate to Atsumi. She is a teenage girl who looks like a little child. People often mistook her for a young child when she truly isn't.
8/10
Enjoyment: I tried to watch Recorder to Randoseru Do♪ without laughing or grinning, I failed. Really failed. Recorder to Randoseru Do♪ is something that can cheer you up on a bad day. It sure did for me! I guarantee it's going to make you laugh a lot. And I mean a lot.
9/10
Overall I give this a 10/10, which means, THAT WAS THE BEST THING I EVER SAW!!!!!!!!!1!!!!1!!!!!
Recorder is one of the funnyest 3 minute anime i have ever seen. The concept in itself is original but there is of course some cliche ideas tossed out that anyone could come up with off the top of there head. Yes a big running gag is the older looking brother is around any girl his actual age he ends up being hauled off to the cops but its still funny. Just cause the show has some predictability does not mean it is boring or stale. It is so compact and well paced that it is hard to get too much of it. The Voice castis wonderfully cast featuring some of the more popular voice actors of today. The Ending theme is also a sweet little melody i can enjoy as the show wraps up. I did take notice of some unusual sound effects that remind me more of cartoons than anime but i still thought they were enjoyable. The art itself is done very well with some pretty close attention to details in a few areas. On par or better to any full length anime series this series does not fall short on production or casting value.
The humor is mildy crude at tune bur is also fairly tame for the possible subject matter. The sister does not provide nearly as much humor as the brother with her air of maturity but she is adorable. This show was made with this balance in mind to give it this odd feel that really boosts the humor. The remaining cast is actually very humerus from the teachers, school mates and even the unemployed next door neighbor.
I think if you enjoy laughing or just jokes in general then you will love this show.
This anime had me laughing and it's a great break from all that heavy arc-filled animes. Sure, my favorite animes are definitely the ones with the best storylines that just make you want more. But, this anime didn't falter in making me want to watch it. The art is ok, not too shabby. And the sound is fine. The characters are interesting and I like the idea of having an adult-looking kid, even if it was completely bogus. So, if you're on break or just want to relax, try this anime. Each episode is only about 3 minutes long and you can watch any episodein order. I really enjoyed this.
Story: Recorder to Randoseru Do is a comic anime about Atsushi and Atsumi Miyagawa and their height differences. Atsushi is an 11-year-old fifth grader that has a body of an adult and a deep voice despite his childlike personality, and Atsumi is a 17-year-old high schooler who is super short and looks like a child despite being mature and responsible. It's a hilarious, slice-of-life comedy with silly, random episodes. Art: The animation is decent for a short anime. Nothing too exciting but decent. Sound- It's very cute and cartoony! Character: I like both the siblings. The elementary kids are alright but not interesting in mu opinion. Theonly character I love is Sayo because she's quirky and has a funny taste in tall men, especially to Atsushi.
Enjoyment: For a five-minute series, this anime is enjoyable, with the running gags of Atsushi often getting arrested by the police for being mistaken as a pedophile, Futami getting uncomfortable around Atsushi, Sayo and her taste in tall men. Yeah, it's really enjoyable.
Overall: This anime might not be as daring and funny as Love Complex but it has its ziny moments. I give it a soild 8.5/10
Honestly was very disturbing overall. Every single joke is just a pedophile joke in some form or another. The sound and art and animation overall was very mediocre, nothing to write home about. There is no opening song, only an ending song. But the premise is where things fall apart. Almost every episode includes a gag where the young boy who looks older gets mistaken as a child molester and/or arrested. There is also an uncomfortable dynamic with the teacher who is fully aware that he is a young child yet still finds herself attracted to him. All of the misunderstanding plots are deeply disturbingseeing as they revolve around the theme of pedophilia. Made me very uncomfortable, was not heartwarming at all. Only lasted the whole way through out of morbid curiosity.
I love this anime Although Atsushi is only 11 years old he has a hot body. I also love how Take is one of those people who you wont see his face that kinda cracks me up. Though the one thing is that I wish the episodes were a little bit longer.
It revolves around Atsushi Miyagawa and his sister Atsumi Miyagawa. Atsushi resembles an adult at 5.9 feet tall, but is actually an elementary school boy. Atsumi looks like a 4.5 foot tall little girl, but she is actually in high school. That more or less is the synopsis, from that the chapters that only last 3 minutes are based. The anime isn't bad but I can't finish enjoying it because the anime only lasts 2 minutes so just like you started it it's over but well it has 3 seasons so I'll keep watching it. The animation is good, the soundtrack is also good andthe character design is also curious, it is also because of the plot that it is SO BIZARRE but well that is also good.
The kind of anime one encounters in the wild. Its entire story is built around the fact that the older sister looks like a grad schooler and the little brother looks old like a young man. Even though the sister is underused the series still manages to be quite fun. The jokes are limited and the usual "Oh that sus man is diddling" but still manages to be intresting. Honestly i was intrigued by it and binged it whole in one sitiing because its episodes are pretty short (3mins). Its not supposed to be a proper anime from what i can tell anyway its morelike a thing that runs between adverts.
This is an anime where a little boy Atsushi looks like a grown man. And his 17yr old sister Atsusmi looks like a grade-schooler. So pretty much your typical anime stuff. And of course you have the lolicon jokes. Atsushi is mistaken for a predator because he hangs out with kids. Older girls are crushing on him. All the little girls in his class are also crushing on him. All his classmates just treat him like a normal kid. Its very similar to Cyclops Shoujo Saipuu an anime about a middle school girl who looks 17. Both anime also have really short episodes 2 to 3 minutes. The hijinks are pretty funny.
Recorder to Randoseru Do is what you could call a simpleminded, quickwatch anime. With no real storyline, and no real story and character development, it's something you watch simply to enjoy the humor in it. And as a big fan of 4-koma anime, it did the trick for me, short as it was. It still had the necessary humor, misunderstandings and funny characters to make it quite a fun anime to watch inbetween. The concept is simple, but pretty hilarious. We have an 11-year old boy who looks like an adult, and a 17-year old sister who looks like an elementary schooler. When I read this,I was surprised and intrigued in how they were going to bring out this idea. The answer is simple: Misunderstandings on top of more misunderstandings. The best thing about this is that the characters still act their age, and as for the smaller sister, that's all right. But for an adult-looking elementary schooler, it leads to quite some interesting moments. Every small episode focuses on a particular scene or two, each having one of the main characters in another (awkward) situation. And if you're into that stuff, it's quite enjoyable. After all, with only 2,5 minutes per episode (not counting the ED), there's really nothing to lose either.
The art is quite average, but it's not bad. You can't really compare it to actual animes, but for what it's worth, it's good enough. The animation is decent, and strangely enough pretty good at some points, where the art also gets a small boost. The faces can look a teeny bit awkward from time to time, but there are no real flaws. The sound is pretty much the same, just your average set of BGM music, with the exclusion of an OP, but including a (short) ED.
As for the characters, we have the main two, Atsushi (brother) and Atsumi (sister), and for side characters, we've got a trio of elementary schoolers (2 boys and a girl), a high schooler who's Atsumi's best friend, and some adult side characters, including an unemployed neighbor. The casting isn't that big, but for a 3-min anime, it's more than enough to work with. All the characters are pretty flat, as in they don't really develop over time other than the two main characters. Nevertheless, they're fun and interesting, which for most is enough to work with.
In conclusion, like I said before, this is an anime you should watch inbetween animes. When you're bored of your regular anime, and just want something to switch gears a little. An entire season of this only lasts about 1,5 episode of an actual anime, so there's no real reason not to watch the entire thing. It doesn't feel rushed either, as each episode feels more or less like a scene from the 4-koma manga (compared to Mangirl, which tends to make me feel like I'm on a sugar high). It's quick, fun, and easy to follow. Just the whole concept is interesting enough to give at least one episode a try, even if it's something you're normally not into. "A Slice of Life anime with a fun little twist" is probably the best way to summarize it, and even if it's just for the whole idea itself, just give it a go. It's the best way to take a break from all the serious stuff, and just relax a bit. It did the trick for me, so perhaps it'll be a nice breather for you as well.
